Lightnings and dirtbikes

I have two questions.

First of all, does anything come stock w/ the Lightning for fastening tie-downs to the front corners of the box?

Second, has anybody tried fitting two full-sized dirtbikes (CR's, YZ's, etc) facing forward in the back?

I'm planning on buying a Lightning in a couple months when I graduate from college, but I'd like to make sure I'll be able to fit a CRF250R and a CR250R in the back at the same time.

Thanks in advance.

I put a raptor, and a kx 80 in my bed last month together (with bed rug).
I was suprised how much space is back there.
As far as 2 full size bikes, my buddy's kx500 fits, but i dont know about 2 bikes that size?

Thanks a lot.

Does the truck come w/ anchors in the corners for the tie-downs, or did you have to put something in there on your own?

Nice CRF. For some reason, I'm still old-school w/ the 2 strokes. I'm leaning towards the regular CR, not the CRF. I would like a CRF250 when they come out. I haven't heard anybody say anything bad about the YZ250F.

Thanks again for the info.

I don't have a dirt bike, so am not sure how big of tie downs you would need, but I put those little "O" rings on the corners of my bed in the slots on the plastic stock bed side caps. I do not have a picture, but hopefully you know what I am talking about. They do great for bungy cords and other rope straps, so I am sure they would work fine for bikes.

There are 4 tie down points in the sides of the bed, 2 in the front and 2 in the back.

Before I bought my Lightning, I owned an extra-cab 4x4 F150 lariat with a regular (non-flareside) bed, and was concerned about the same things you are, since I've raced motocross for the past 7 years. I probably should mention that I do have an AMP bed extender, but as someone else said, you will be surprised at how much space you can find back there (with the tailgate down). On race day, I can easily fit my bike (CR250), full-size gear bag, gas can, tool box and parts bin, Oxlite ramp, pressure washer and 55-gallon drum. With all that stuff, you would be hard pressed to fit a second bike in there, but on practice days I've managed to squeeze a 2nd full-size bike in (with one of the front wheels angled towards the corner). And again, as someone else said, I just use one of the four anchors Ford puts in the lower corners of the bed.

Hope this helps.

Later...

I've had 2 KX250's and all our gear including a cooler full of BEER in the back of my L with no problems. Now I have 22's and fat rubber and it still doesn't rub (w/2 bikes). I ordered LFP's -2" belltechs and -2" hotchkis rears and hopefully it still won't rub...but I bet I'm limited to 1 bike.

I couldn't have asked for a better answer. How much does the back and sag when you have your race-day stuff back there?

My brother has put 2 KX250's and enough gear, sleeping bags, food and beer for him and another guy for a whole weekend in the back of a Ranger Splash so I'm sure you'll get 2 bikes in the bed of the Lightning. You just have to be creative with bungee straps and tie-downs!
