Looking For E-fan Thoughts

Is it really worth $383.00 for a electric fan (Flex-a-lite from Jegs)? Also the Cobra R waterpump? I have been thinking about doing both but do those of you that have made the change think it was worth it? Any real (not just I went 200 miles on 1/4 tank) data on fuel savings?

if you drag race, it's good for cooling down the truck, if your not a drag racer, i wouldn't worry about it,

if you do a water pump, i'd to the meziere electric

the meziere electric is a pricey unit and there seems to be no real gains with it...

but it may assist a lot more in cooling...haven't tested it out yet..

there are definately some gains as your taking off the drag, maybe not much, but more than the cobra r,

also, you can wire a switch to turn it on at will and then you have super quick cooldown!

I don't drag race but a few times a year (my deal is the twisties). If it saves just one MPG it would pay for itself in 18 months with the miles I drive!

Good point Jerry. I don't get to the strip much, but I was considering this mod for the improved MPG. I'm eager to see somebodys results.

I have the flex-a-lite e-fans and cobra water pump. My truck has shown improvement at both the track and in the gas mileage. It also runs much quieter without that big rotating clutch fan.. I can get close to 15mpg's if I drive civally(sp), that's combined freeway and city driving. Personally I think the flex-a-lite setup is the best and their customer service can't be beat!!! ...JR
just my opinion however

Cool

HI!... Why spend $383(U.S) when you can do a better and cheaper electric fan kit. I bought two 16" electric DERALE fans for $98.00(U.S) each and one fan controller for $45(U.S). I run one fan off the controller and the other off a manual switch in my cab. Total cost was $241(U.S). Been running this set-up for just about 4 years now with no problems. You can't beat it.
