'03 Dark Shadow Gray Cobra (well, four words and a number )
First off, congrats on the new toy!!!

What do the 03 Cobra's run STOCK?

I checked every site that I know, and could not come up with a solid answer...even at the http://www.svt.ford.com/flash/ site.

When I went to "COMPARE" 2001 Lightning -vs- 2003 Cobra coupe, the ford site wouldn't even spit out performance numbers!
It gave me n/a numbers for the Cobra. Is Ford still gun shy due to the 99 Cobra fubar?

Other than that, and I can't throw a kayak in the back, I'd have one.
I used to say the same thing. Well i finally drove one the other day, and it's not bad at all. I was thinking of buying a 03 gt model for a toy. Truth is the L is way faster and turns a lot more heads. If I do buy one, i am keeping the L.

(hope i dont eat those words, i am going to look at the cobra today)

Oh no! Say it ain't so!

You're goin' from a bolt of lightning to a a hindu reptile from India. They 'taste' the air with their tongue. They flatten out their necks to show off their tattoos. True, they can immobilize small mammals with their juice........but, beware of the Mongoose . He's quicker than a double-fanged snake .

I guess you're just tryin' to snuggle up a little closer to that other reptile, the Viper of Augusta?

I'm just trying to stay within SIGHT of the "Viper". Damn things supposedly run high 11's @120+!

BTW, it's easy to adjust the seats in the Cobra atleast it was for my '99. I added a 2 1/2" extension for the seat brackets and made a WORLD of difference. BTW, 6'-2" here.

Honestly, the truck does get MORE attention. It's rare that I don't get a compliment on it anytime I get gas, haul trash, etc. etc. I just miss rowing gears... ALOT.

I made the switch from having a 99L&01L to the new 03 Cobra and i can tell you that i am still grinning everytime i get behind the wheel of it because of the massive power these modded Cobra's make throughout the powerband. As far as room that is the one area i miss about the L and not having a automatic for explosive takeoffs! What made me switch was the added blower along with a built bottom end and the way that this 4 valve motor responds to mods.Good luck with your new ride

Most of the published information on track times for the 03 Cobras is deceiving. Keep in mind they have not been around that long, and I believe all the "winter wrenching" will play out in really low numbers as the weather warms up and track conditions improve.

One of the members over on svt performance .com just dyno'd his 03. His only mod was the removal of the air silencer and installing a drop-in K&N filter. His 03 produced 388 RWHP.

Another member installed a CAI and exhaust system and produced 439/405 HP-Torque.

launching is not as big an issue as some make it out to be. A little practice on the shifter and the one/two gear pull is better than my 2002 "L" ever was, and the pull through third to redline is just plain awesome.

Comparing my stock 00 L to my stock 03 Cobra, the L feels like a slug. Very quick, very responsive, gets up and pushes you back very quick.
