Question Header Advice

I own a 2001 L, my only mods are a K&N, with the fender opening opened to accomidate the Breather box opening, and a Magnaflow muffler.....Trying to keep the "warranty deamons" at bay...

My local Ford Dealer is now a Bassani Dealer and i'm considering headers...I have 2 questions:

#1 What is the difference between long tub and shorties as far as performance is concerned?

#2 Will the headers added to my mostly stock exhaust change the sound?

I'm looking for a quicker response and a deeper exhaust tone...Will they make a noticable difference in either??

Any opinions are much appreciated...

Long tube perform and shorties do not. Sound will change with either. Biggest sound change will come from a high flow cat which the dealer cannot do.

Don't bother with shorties. If you want headers long tubes are the only way to go.

Even if it's just for the sound increase, they are awsome!

Hey GP... I tried to email you but it said you wouldn't accept. If you have those shortys laying around, you want to sell them for a low, low price? What brand and condition are they?
