i didnt see the the commercial what did it look like? Any more info on the release date for this truck? I can't wait till it comes out... I'd love to see it run a "12.9" hah yeah right...
I think the truck will surprise some people with a good driver and a set of slicks. Colleti said he was astonished at the low 1/4 mile rating Dodge released with the truck. I think they just stated a time that is a little faster than the Lightning. There is no way 500hp is going to run a 12.9. It has to be mid 12's...even if it is heavier. Just think about a 3500rpm or more dump off the line and speed shifting each gear. That has to be good for a half second...

I will admit this is gonna completely be driver dependant but I'll bet a good driver can make that truck a lot faster than 12.9's.

500 HP X 20% loss (very high loss for a stick most likely more like 15% or less)= 400 rwhp
13.52 @ 100.83
This is not real world numbers but just using the following:

You also have to take into account how skilled the driver is since it is a stick. So out of the hole plus how well you can power shift it will make a difference unlike a L put it in drive and mash it. Another factor is the gearing in the trans. How low is first and the spread between the gears. When you shift will it keep it in the power band of the motor. So many unknowns. There is no way one will be able to tell what real world numbers will be. Only true way will be when they get out on the race track. I have learned through years of racing (strip and street) to never laugh at a car till you see it run. Who knows the ram may not beat an L stock for stock or maybe it will but remember they have 120Hp and 50 pounds of torque more then you do stock. A hell of a motor to start stock with.

According to your link/program, I would have 437 rwhp if i trapped a 107 in the 1/4 with only 4600 lbs. weight.
Also, i dynoed 394/495.6 and it has me down as only being able to manage a 13.3 at 102?
Bottom line: i believe the truck will do a 12.9 with slicks. in fact, i think it will pull a 12.7 or so with a good launch and quick shifting....

If that truck don't run mid to low 12's bone stock with slicks dodge better take that thing off the market. its going to be very fast indeed and I wouldn't be suprized if I got hit by one on the street.

Also somebody mentioned torque and going back to the viper it puts out something like 525 lb/ft. I would thik the truck would have to be somewhere in that ball park.
Bear in mind this is all coming form a guy who knows nothing about drag racing, and has never stepped foot on a drag strip so I could have gone about this comepletly wrong. Just thought I'd throw it out there

still..the viper motor is still respectable. i just dont like the styling and i think if given the option, most owners would have preferred to skip those huge rims for something more practical both on the street and strip...and maybe knock a bit off the sticker to boot...
I just hope that I run into one on the street, but I doubt it will happen with a 50K sticker price. I hope so though, I can't wait to see the expression on some guys face when I put a couple of train lengths on him from a red light. My only comment will be

But as far as that formula, I thought of that myself to. I dont see it running a close time to the viper which is 1500 pounds less than the truck first of all. That dodge has a v10 yeah, but i dont think it has what it takes to hook up and get down the track in less than 13 seconds. With slicks and other forms of traction i see it being pretty quick. But fresh out of the factory i dont see it running a 12.
