Arrow Alright help me decide.

Ok here it is. I have a decision to make.

Here are the choices:

1). Keep my Lightning, save up a few more dollars and go for a built bottom end with heads and cams. If I do this later on this year I will probably buy a new Ford truck also for next winter.

2). Sell my Lightning As-Is or stock. Take the money left over after the pay-off and use it as a down payment on an 03 Lightning Sonic Blue on X-plan. If I go this route I will have a stock motor and most likely no truck later on down the road.

I am leaning towards number one. Simply because I love my truck. I just don't want some A-hole to get his hands on it and destroy it. I am sure it sounds lame but I really love it.

So I just want your guy opinions. Let me hear them. Oh wait I forgot to tell you option 3. Sell my truck and get a SRT-10.

I say #2 Newer the better. Um. You currently have 3 thread heads or 8 thread?. Take all of that into consideration. Good luck my friend.

I wouldn't buy a new one unless I could keep my old one!

BINGO

But if the choice is keep and build
"or" 03,
I'd say keep and build.
I'm checking my options now, and I see in some magizines I can buy a LONG BLOCK "built motor" with H-Beams, Forged Steel Crank, Awesome Pistons, ARE Heads etc.... for at least 1/2 of the price of what I see around.
460HP Long Blocks to be exact.
W/O a blower

I'll find the ad and contact the company soon to see exactly what you get,

just for later reference "IN CASE"

All fairly good replies gentleman, but I have the answer. Keep your current truck and paint it Sonic Blue

Keep the one you have. I could kick myself in the butt. I traded my 99 in on an 01, because I wanted a new truck again...w/ no abuse. I ended up pulling the motor out of the 01 w/ only a few hundred miles. I had no reason to pull it other than I knew I would eventually making more HP than the stock motor could handle. Should've saved the money and built the 99.

I dont see the point in going through all that and losing your current mods because you want a sonic blue truck. Keep your current ride and its mods. The '03 isnt worth all that hassel...paint yours if your really wanting the sonic blue real bad.
