2" shackles & Pinion Angle

I have an '03 L. The rear springs are definitely different than earlier years and the rear end of the vehicle sits higher. I installed a set of 2" drop rear shackles to level it out and have a question about pinion angle. Everyone seems to say pinion angle does not require adjustment when the 2" shackles are installed. I noticed the '03 L has what appears to be 2 or 3 degree (approx.) shims from the factory with the thicker portion facing the front of the vehicle. Installed in this position, they have a negative effect on pinion angle. Do the pre '03 L's have these shims too and if so, are they installed with the thicker portion in the front?
Has anyone had pinion angle problems with '03's after installing the 2" shackles?

Can anyone with an '03 L take a look at the shims on theirs and let me know if the thick portion of the shim faces the front or rear of the truck?

Has anyone had a problem with vibration that required a pinion angle change with an '03L after installing 2" drop shackles?
If so, what did you have to do to correct it; remove the existing shim, reverse its position or add a different one?
