2003 lightning and $10,000

What would you do to a 2003 lightning if you had $10,000 dollars to spend? Keep in mind that i want to keep it looking like a truck, and i don't what to sit it on the ground. I am open to lowering it a little, maybe. I really don't want to change the appearance that much at all. Maybe tint and couple other things but that is it. So what would you do?

KB or Works, some bolt-ons (Shift kit, filter, etc.)
Roush or Hotchkis suspension (maybe with some Ruslow bits like panhard bar, 1000 lb. springs, etc.)

Then save the rest (or better yet invest) for built motor and monster box.

Exclamation 10 G's

You could do alot with that kind of mula. Before spending a dime, do some research and try and find out where you're gonna get the most bang for those bucks. I wish I knew what I know now, two years ago, because I'd have alot of extra dough for a boat or something else. Contact any one of the Tuners and they'll take good care of you, good luck, John H.

What do you want to do? Do you want to go fast? I would and am putting my money in a built lower end, port and polished heads & intake, Monster box tranny and stall converter, and JLP lift bars for traction.
There is 10 grand well spent.
Just my 2 cents...

Peace, Suavy

yep i have most of the bolt-ons except LTs (barring newer stuff like plasma booster, etc.) and i probably spent no more than 2500 tops.

if i had that much at once i would probably bide my time and do most my bolt ons (minus pulley) and just get a KB or Works. then i would put the rest in my pocket for that rainy day when you need or want new forged internals...a built motor will run you anywhere from 3500 to 6000..depending on how hardcore you are (or become )

I would put the extra $10,000 and buy ford stock. As the price is in the $8 area now and in two years that 10 grand should grow to $30,000 with that and your three years old L you can purchase a 06 lightning

10k goes kind of quick when it comes to heavy modding. I would buy an upgraded blower, built bottom end, FT valve body, air kit, good tune(chip), traction bars, and a nice set of slicks. That should about eat it up. Next up would be some nice chrome or polished wheels, bed rug, hood, possibly a roll bar(if you want to race a lot), throttle body, shocks....the list goes on and on. You just have to decide how fast or bling you want to be. It seems never ending.

you could make it pretty cool for another 10 grand.

Put in a storage tank for gas. With the cost of gas skyrocketing, and the L's not being an economy car, it might be the best mod you could get.

If you got crazy money out the wazoooooooo, spend it on the truck. Just remember, what you put on is what you'll have to take off when the need for warranty rolls around.

Buy a crotch Rocket............. If you want speed.

What does a crotch rocket have to do with this post?

you might want to bring your case up on the viper or ferrari forums too..looks like those guys also wasted a lot of money

oh and with a built motor and tranny...i doubt you would have to worry about warranty issues unless you are ABUSING the truck or it is something else (like failed power windows)

Built bottom end, and aftermarket blower. And then, a built tranny.

Keep your 03' stock and save the $10,000 as a down payment on a Gen III! Hopefully it will come with a upgraded blower, better bottom end, and a better tranny...Then you'll have two of the "Fastest Production Trucks in the World"...just my .02
