Angry help! curb rash

Washed my truck off a little bit and noticed a small, half-inch curb rash on the lip of my rear driver's side wheel. You can't see it from the side profile but looking down on top of that area you can notice it pretty well. It's not *that* big of a deal, but it looks like the paint is off on that spot. It just shows bare metal.

Two Qs:

1) Should I be afraid of rust? Are our wheels aluminum or some aluminum composite?

2) I tried some touch up paint but it didn't really help. Just matched the color by eye and bought some touch-up paint at Autozone. Is there a special wheel touch up paint or something?

Thanks in advance....

P.S. I've been thinking about powdercoating/polishing my wheels lately so it may not be that bad anyway. I've been thinking about doing a gun metal color for the entire rim but polish the lips around..making them stand out a little more. Photoshoppers welcome...pics of the truck in my gallery.

if your really worried about it take it to a
Discount Tire or similar tire shop and ask them if they can remachine it, itll cost you about 100 bucks or so, but i guarantee that you will not be able to tell the difference between new and fixed. i dont think they rust. is a chunck out of the rim or just a small scratch, if its a small scratch then i dont think they will charge you that much just to refinish it.

I'll take pics later but it is a scratch. Not a chunk but the paint did come off..showing bare metal. It's not noticeable and I wouldn't pay 100 bucks just for that, but I am just worried about rust...

ford makes a touch up to match, I got some when I put a little ding in a wheel. Use a very fine brush and build up the paint in layers, You really don't notice it when you step back.

Unless it is real deep, just polish it out with a Dremel, and paint it.
