Front fascia....

Remember when the Lightnings were coming out and they all had scrapes on the bottom of the front fascia (maybe they still do) and Ford would never say anything about it....well it looks like the Cobras now have the same problem, except they are being noticed by Ford!

Ford Motor Company has issued an advisory for all 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra models. The advisory requests every Ford dealer to inspect both the front and rear facias of the Cobra for damage. Ford requests that all damage claims be made within 48 hours of receipt of the Cobra.

Damage to the facias occur when the Cobras are being loaded and unloaded from transport trailers on unlevel ground.

Man, we just seemed to get screwed at every turn by ford!

It's as if our Lightnings were red-headed stepchilds to the SVT program (no offense to any real red-headed stepchilds here)

One of the first things I did when we picked up the Cobra 2 days ago was to check under the front and back of the car for damage.
There was none though.

With all the "DRAMA" as someone put it, I don't come here much. I check things out every now and then though.

The sub is Belle Pointe.

I think this is more for Fords benefit than the consumer. They have probably had buyers come back a few days later and claimed that the bumpers were scraped underneath. There was no way to tell if the bumper had been scraped before or after the buyer picked it up. This eliminates the buyer who goes out and scrapes up his bumper and then comes back and claims it was that way from the factory. Bottom line, you need to inspect the vehicle at time of pick up and reference any damage that needs to be taken care of.

Whatever happened to the “kit” that Ford was releasing for the Lightning front bumper cover?
