Next mod for the Lightning, Traction bars and Drive Shaft Loop...any suggestions?

So far the ones I like the best, Truck Tracks from Jay Lincoln.

I have been advised to get some form of traction bars in the back and also a drive shaft loop. I'm fairly new to the Traction bars is there any brand that is better than the other. My overall question is, they pry won't improve my 60 foot times, but they will keep the frame of the truck straight on launch and prevent any harm to the driveshaft correct? Is there any more that they do?

As far as the drive shaft loop, not much more to that i need info on right? All are pretty similar... I do have JDM's Silver Bullet Muffler system, that shouldn’t affect much right? Also, what’s the difference with the circular ones that bolt to the floor boards, and the longer ones that mount to the frame?

any of the driveshaft loops will work, the only problem with the round ones, is you have to remove the driveshaft to install. I do have the round one.

As for traction bars, I perfer the Rancho type(JDM, LFP, or JLP) over the truck track type. The long bar bolted to the frame and axle helps transfer weight better.

The JLP rancho style bars are on sale for 325. I ordered a set along with a d/s loop a couple of days ago...

they're a pretty good value since they are on sale...

rancho bars also prevent axle wrap....and improves handling a little too

Hey George I have been doing very well,

My truck is going back on the road next weekend, so keep a eye on the boards. I will have some cool pics to post.

I see you have been running more consistantly in the past few months. I have been keeping my eyes on you.

yes...and you have to be careful on the drivers side or you'll drill through the fuel lines etc.

i dont even have a drill...i'm getting a more experienced person to handle this kind of install....

the drilling isn't big enough to weaken the frame or anything, you just gotta be careful (put some sort of plate behind where you drill on the driver's side so u know when to stop before hitting the fuel lines.)
