Coletti to keep exclusivity of SVT vehicles...

I didn't think the Lightning was very exclusive anymore. It certainly doesn't have a high resale value.

funny how he thinks the srt-10 1/4 times are higher than actual. I was thinking about that as well...a high 13 doesnt seem right with a viper engine...even if the truck weighs a **** load

Not very exclusive?

Ford sold 800,000 F150's last year, ~5000 of which were lightnings.

That makes 0.625% of all F150's Lightnings...seems pretty exclusive.

"We want to keep the exclusivity there, which helps keep the resale high."
I don't consider the resale value to be high. If they only made 1-2K a year for 2 or three years the resale might be high.

And you think people complain about mod-part costs now, just imagine if that were true. :) lol.

Just because you live somewhere were 5 other people bought one dosn't mean its not exclusive. There's the numbers. :P :)

I do agree, the resale is not there, but that is a difficult battle, not alot of cars are capable of that, especially at this "young" age. Like the 850CSi I was looking at, its msrp was $114k... it had 48,000mi on it (1996), and it was selling for $34000.

I'm sure you live in select parts of LA, a Ferrari isn't exclusive then right? :)

I bet that as the new L release approaches, the resale value of the current L's will be even lower. But think about it, @6,000 per year and 5 years now, you will deffinatly see more. But when you say I have #blah out of 800,000 f150's made this year, its still exclusive. I'm shure if you dont want your non exlusive truck, others would take your exclusive truck.

I'm not selling my truck, but nearly everyone who sells one complains about the resale. That leads me to believe that the resale is not high as Coletti says.

I have #697 of ALL current body style f150's. Is that exclusive? Will it ever be worth somthing?

I hope so considering how many are crash tested by ford and totaled by the owners.

Exclusivity schmexclusivity...Colletti could give two squirts of **** about resale. The only thing low build numbers does is justify dealers charging exorbitant markups to the poor saps who wander in lookin for a fun ride.

It's our current new car market that's pulling down used car values. When you can go out and buy a brand new car with 0% financing cheaper than a 1 year old used car with 7% financing, which one are you going to buy? To keep the used car market going, resale values on all vehicles, not just low production numbered lines, are taking hits. When times turn around, I would expect to see resale values come back up.
