M3 Owner Talking SMACK!....

I posted about a week ago about Lightnings VS M3's. There is a local guy here who just bought a M3 and he is running off at the mouth about how fast it is. Yesterday, while in town I was parallel parked behind him, and I was talking to him inside a place of business and he told me.....When you leave get a good look at the back of my car because thats all you will be seeing. I laughed and told him...Anytime...Anyplace! I actually think he is scared that he might lose because I am ready!....Anyway...I hope it happens soon. I want to see how it comes out...Do you guys think I will do OK?

P.S.- I know that I will do OK in the quarter...but how would I do from 60mph roll and up. He was saying that he would kill me in that respect. What do you think? All my mods are listed below!

He claims that the car is just UNBELIEVABLE from 70-140. Is it that much faster than an L from 70-140.

Another question...I notice that the M3 is relatively low in torque for having that much horsepower. Where will that actually factor in?

off the line mostly, and on downshifts, torque is what actually makes you go, thats why all these rices claim to have over 300hp to rearwheels but there torque is less than 200...

it's off the line, thats why all these ricers can run like a 13.8 but have a MPH at like 125mph or something like that, where we have a 13.8 and only have like a 103 or so MPH........ it's cause we would have killed the ricer off the line but they got up to a faster speed for weight difference and for HP, but they had no torque thats why they go killed off the line.

and this guy says it's so unbelievable from 70-140...... but what has he compared it to?? what was his last car a 6 or 4 cylinder??
because a friend of mine said, "oh man i road in a volvo 5 cylinder and it was fast, i asked him whats it compared to, he said "4 cylinder ranger, and V6 Mustang"...

get my drift?

70 to 140, i dont know70 to 110 or 120 maybe, 140 i wouldnt try it. That car was built for high end speeds.

I tell ya..the other day I was coming home and some Honda with a Fart can was ahead of me on the on ramp..He hit it and I let him get out there and pounded it from about 70 and ran her to 130 before I shut it down..He must of quit about 115 cause he was blips..I knew I would kill him but it was funny none the less

I have a JDM flip..chip was on the fast side. Cone, Sal Fast air, Boost bypass. It was the first time I did a high speed romp with the chip in. And I was impressed..She got there real real fast and had much more to go.

I have not rode in an M3 though..SO I have no idea what they can do. But I would bet. If he got you from 70 to 140. It wouldnt be by much.
Make sure you drag him first..then do his high end deal. You should stay with him though top end..Even with your brickwall busting that wind resistance at high speeds!!

I had similar mods to yours and was challenged on the beltway by an '02 M3 last fall. He went first, got the jump, but I put 2 or 3 lengths on him from a. This was from a 70 roll. I shut it down at 110 due to approaching traffic. This was repeated further down the road, wame results.

you should take him easily, especially off the line w/ those DRs. and you shouldn't worry about racing from a roll either...just don't go above 140 cuz i think the m3s have a higher top speed

now on a road course....things would be a lil' different.
