Tough decision: Traded L for new 6.0

Yes it was a difficult decision because the L is a cool car/truck to drive. All the looks me and the L get when driving around - the performance the sound, etc. I would have felt the same if it had been an '03 Cobra - these are great vehicles!

But with the growing family it was time to face reality and when my wife said she would still like to have a truck.... I knew which one it should be: '03 F250 4x4 short box 6.0 w/ 5spd auto Lariat. It is also a great truck.

I got the F250 at invoice and they gave me $21,200 for the L which had 35,600 miles on it.

This is a great board and I'll continue to visit here.

From: Colorado,
Don't feel bad, your family comes first! I had to make those kinds of decisions when I was young.
Now that the kids are grown and gone I am having a second chance at my childhood and it is way better this time around!

I always used to think that the good times were in the past and they don't make things like they used to. Now that I have the L I have had a change of heart.

There are problems with them sure but that's true with anything. Still way more comfortable and faster than the good old days!

Don't be a stranger
Greg

personally i would have waited a year, every 6.0DIT that came in for PDI was leaking somewhere or other problems.

i would always wait a year or two to work out the problems with a new line.

power stroke

You have to admit the new 6.0 is a beast. Just gave my sister one of my D-plan pins and ordered her one, F-250 4x4 6.0 crew cab that thing drives nice and makes great power. Congrats on your new purchase, I am sure you will love that truck. The leaking problems have all been fixed in very early production. so they are pretty solid now.

I have a 02 F350 with the 7.3 PS in addition to my L. Obviously they are totally different trucks. I am sure you will enjoy the new truck with the 6.0 but nothing beats the seat of the pants pull and whine of the L. Good Luck with the new one and as someone else said visit www.thedieselstop.com. You will find a great bunch of people in the 6.0 and 7.3 forums. They are almost as helpful as the people on F150online.

Im getting ready to do surgery on my first 6.0 today, wish me luck. I ve got to take the friggin AC evaporator off to get the right valve cover off to replace an injector. The truck has 33 miles on it.

You don't need a port. If you want to chip your NEW 6.0 (and I just don't understand why you would) there are several on the market now. One that came to mind was:
