drop shackles and driveshaft angle
drop shackles and driveshaft angle
is this an issue with 2" drop shackles?
i remember reading something about shaft twist etc, but cant find if it is due to drop shackles or other lowering methods...

I got 2" Shackles and race with it all the time.
NO PROBLEMS HERE
I think your fine with a basic 2" Shackle, especially since it'll only gives you an inch or so.
Dam another inch or so, and I would have been in the Movies

Guy were going to the track with a drop and slicks and breaking driveshafts off the line. traction bars will eliminate this.A driveshaft loop (for the money) is also a wise investment.

There are no problems with the 2" shackle for drivetrain angle. If you are going to race with slicks, I would also recommend a d/s loop, although not necessary for only 2" in the rear. I have seen a d/s snap due to angles, but that truck was probably 3/4 with no shims.

No Flame but I have personally witnessed guys at the track with slicks and a 2 inch drop with no traction bars, unload and whack the D/S. Not a pretty site.
The next week he had bars and it never happened again.
Cheap insurance of you ask me.

Guys have broke driveshafts with no drop. When running slicks, the tires grab and twist the rear-end up and the driveshaft hits the bottom of the truck. It seems this only happens with the 01 and newer aluminum d/s

I agree 100%...Traction bars are a must, lowered or not. I must have been sleeping and forgot to add that part....I know I was thinking it...
