Hey I just removed the stock 6 disk from my truck today along with that ugly tool box back there, let me know if you want to buy it, thanks.

I believe he is refering to the in-dash unit not the seperate changer. I was looking for a chance to get rid of mine, too.

Anyway, sorry, I don't know if that is the number either.

ZBORNAC is right, I was looking to put an in dash type changer that came in the 2003 L's in my 2002 L. That way I wouldn't have to mess with the changer behind the seat.

The model # you gave is for the Mach460 CD-6 unit which will NOT work in the E/F-Series vechicles. That one is OE in mustangs (and other vehicles i'm sure).

Supposedly, the correct number head unit that will fit in a Lightning (2002) is #1C3F-18C815-AB. This is based on prior threads on this board and also from "Radios and More" who sells this Visteon-made stuff. I just bought one from a 2003 Screw, but have not installed it yet.

I do not know if the unit from the 2003 L is the same number or not.

From my understanding the in dash changer will also work the external changer. Am I correct on this?

That is the theory...

...and the only reason I'm doing this. the L is currently in storage and it's freakin' 5F here today, so the chances of me gettin gto this any time before late March is pretty slim.

Yeah, I curious about what the 2003 part # is.

I'm assuming my unit is going to work just fine.

Note the lower mounting bracket and lack of the typical ford key holes on the sides. This is the Mach460 CD-6 deck and will not fit.

Then there is also this one which is a total anomily to me. Supposedly out of an explorer. Looks exactly like the one that fits in the L except for the text on the cd flap.

Asking $230 plus shipping on mine which is out of an '03 L.
