Me again,

Just woke up 20 mins ago I finally get a chance to post again, It is got to the point were some of my customers and suppliers have stopped in for a visit.

The good news is, The operation worked I can sense temperature change, Doc got some ice 10 mins ago and put it on my leg and ran it up and down, I felt the differance and I' am almost sedamental about it. He just threw the ice in the garbage and said "Yes, It worked." By the end of the week The walking is going to begin they tell me so I just as well get the hand controls out of the vehicles.

Mummbles/ Pat
Man, that's GREAT!! We're pulling for you bud!

I worded that post wrong, Sorry. What I should of typed is, They are going to start therapy at the end of the week, one excercise is they put you in a upper body harness, suspend you ouer a treadmill, Turn it on slow and the legs follow the thredmill working muscles. The therapy is painful and lengthy.for a better understanding Read this book.

It will give you a better understanding of what goes on, You and I heal faster because we are young and that is a good thing.

On another Note

All I have accomplished is nothing I' am not in any pain at the moment therefore, I think I' am going to call for some assistance and try to get out of this bed somehow and wheel ouer to the Pop Machine. The surgeon was by today and he ran that pin wheen pizza cutter like tool down my legs, I have alot of feeling in the waist area, a little in the legs and alot in the arch of my foot. THEREFORE IT WORKED.
Everyone I know is ectatic about the news my life will resume to its fullest potential But, I' am still going to stay retired.

I will keep you all posted

Pat

Pat,

The fact that you can feel the Ice cubes and pin wheel tell me things couldn't be better RIGHT NOW

YOU DA MAN
DAM THIS IS GREAT NEWS

let me ask you something, is this a new operation, or is it only available in certain situations and type of injury ???
It seems that if you didn't run into the guy with the simular damage that had it done, no-one would have offered it to you.
THAT WOULD BE SOOOOOOOO UN-FAIR if there's hope for people out there and no-one is telling them about it I KNOW YOU WILL

Rob,

Good point. It was my G.P (general practionor) who gave me the lead on the other fellow, actually, his name is Chad and he is from Alberta as well and he came to visit me. He is alot luckyer than I' am he walks perfect and he says his lifting capacity is currantly 22 Lbs safely. I asked him what is he going to do when he is fully rehabilitated, and he said "work the rigs again". Ok I guess, be more careful. A very nice person though, he has really inspired me though.
My disadvantage is I will never be able to lift or carry anything probily a max of 10 Lbs. The days of being a 20 year old are over no more bailing friends and brothers out of bar fights, al night falling down drunks, you know the "when you are in your 20's stuff" I' am 26 turning 27 at the end of March and I' am a very old man . Just ask how I feel some days. Oh well they have ride on mowers to cut the grass and a snowblower attachment for the winter. I have it all figured out.

Have a great day guys

Pat

Here is some sillyness for you all, These dravings are done by a staff member at the Alberta Report www.albertareport.com a very contraversal magazine published in Alberta, Canada if you aren' t a red neck don' t go to the web site. They are a magazine that is blunt and to the point and not all people can handle it. It is like the Andy Rooney of the magazines if you know what I mean.

Ok I was just a little confused. You sure are right we are lucky we are young. There are so many things we take for granted in the world. Let me tell you walking is one of them for me. Everything has had to change for the time being with me. It is no fun. But the good thing is is that it sounds like your surgery was a success. I hope I can say the same once I go back to the doctor. I wish you a speedy recovery! -Mat-

Does that mean what I think it means? If so, I can understand that your mood would be greatly improved!

One thing that we're overlooking here...
God does answer prayers!!

Keep the faith Pat, and we'll keep you in our prayers.

I don't have the wording exact but: Even the longest journey begins with the first step. Therapy will be difficult, but just remember, you can do it..

The doctor thinks it should be fine in a couple more months. I go back some time in March to get more X-rays. I am supposed to be on crutches atleast until the next appointment but I have been "one crutching" it around instead of using two. I still have a lot of pain in the lower leg. Also a real lot in the knee area from where he took bone from during the last surgery. So God-willing I should be getting close to "good as new" in about 1-2 months. I sure hope so because the good weather is coming and I wanna ride my jetski. I wish you the best of luck with our operation and thank you for asking on my condition. -Mat-

Morphine seems to be the answer when pain swts in. I walked 1 step I knew everything was going to be fine when my feet hit the cold linolium on the floor, I did 1 painful step and that was it. So, I wheeled to the can instead of haveing that stuoid cathador on all the time.
