"Lightning Motors" not only problem in Lightnings.......

but I've heard a few reports within the past two weeks that the Harley's are having a good share of plug lanching and rod throwing themselves.....except ford is putting the warrenties through no questions asked......don't want to give Harley the bad name...........

Any truth to this

Mine is getting fixed at a Jaguar/Lincoln dealer. They told me they've done 6 Navigators.

The SVT dealer I bought mine from (sold about ~50 lightnings), said they had 2 come back so far.

Boy, I hope thats not true! But it figures, but I wonder what the % of Harley's are modded motor wise, compared to the Lightnings?

hmmm

i would figure not nearly as many...or not as many mods, but a chip is one of the first mod anyone does, and that's what hangs everyone as far as warrenty......

Now, i'm not speculating, starting rumors, or any of that crap.....but i heard on the Harley trucks, Ford is turning the other cheek. I have also heard that the fact that it is an SVT vehicle, so why ford said's the attack dogs down to the dealer to investigate the failure. In most cases, a normal ford f150, navi and such will get a new engine without much hassell. Maybe some of the ford guys can ellaborate on this if there is any truth to this.

yup, i know quite a few guys that blew a hole in their block with their 02HD's. But they are having more trouble with warranty than you think. I only know of one guy out of all of them that had it covered

I was told by one of the members here of a 2002 HD that broke a rod and had to pay--no warranty coverage--in this case.............. It was fairly heavily mooded too.
