10 LB. Pulley Questions?

I heard a few stories about them also.
However, after talking to a few engine builders who basicly told me the only issue they had is there is a lot to clean up on them size wise. Further, they thought they were good quality and durable pistons
What made them beter was Manley sponsered my internals.
Peace, Suavy

[B]I remember when people said that about the 2# , then the 3# , then the 4# , Then the 5#, Then the 6# , Then the 8#, Now the 10#..................
I have run the 8# for 4000 miles, about 25 passes (7 in the 11s and the rest 12.0s) on a stock block.
Do I recommend it , NO. Is my 8# coming off , Eventually.
I always thought lower blower pulley size would blow the motor but my feelings have gone toward detenation a lot more as I have seen the stock eaton taken too its maximum and the motor is still alive
If you don't recomend it ,then like i said "Got rods"
Funny, i don't remember reading posts from 2/3 of the current board members when the 2# or 4#lower came out ,but those that were members then, never heard me say anything about needing rods.
The 10# pulley has been out for quite a while[About a year],and rumour has it that some smuck ran a 16# pulley for a couple of runs with a 1# upper...can you say 25#'s with the stock Eaton .

The point I was trying to make was that I felt detenation is more of a cause then the pulley size.
If you do a search to way back when or talk to some of the guys like HDMLINIUN who had one of the first 2# pulleys , that was a HUGE concern.
When HD came down for the X-mas party I let him drive my L for a while with the 8# on and he could not believe it and we talked about the concerns when he put the 2# on.
Of course a built motor is the way to go and maybe one day I will get one or even need one. You never know.

There was a kid that ran an 11.6 and went back to the lanes and when he ran again that shut the clock down and had him report to the office though.

I know that Geronimo[Suavy] had plans for a built motor as we have talked about it offline.
"Got rods" was originally meant to be a tounge in cheek comment, and not advice
Hey ib fast,
Don't sweat it, I knew what you meant and you know what I'm up to.
I have been on this board for only about 6 months or so. I have total respect for every one here and the knowledge we all share. Sure there is a slam or a flame from time to time.
However, none of us should take all the comments personal. Though I have taken a few comments personal my-self.
I bought my lightning new in 2000 and have not babied it at all I run who ever comes up next to me win or lose! If nothing else for the love of the sport. There is nothing better than a win! But we must all show respect for the person who beats us.
I am trying to take my truck Suavy to the next level, and yes everyone it is great to have sponsors. I e-mailed and talk to two companies about my plans and they were willing to give their support to my dream.
I do not have as much experience as a lot of you all have but I read a lot and have followed your success. Further, I have asked for help and tips from allot of you that you all were willing to give, thank you.
I will be running under the Magnum Power & Manley Flag this year.
I hope of having the privilege of racing some of the big names that I will not mention so I don't leave any of you out. It will be a dream come true to line up next to you this year and if I lose at lease I can say that I had the opportunity to race you.
Respectfully,
Jeronimo Gonzalez (Suavy)
