How much would this cost me??? And will I regret it after?

Hey I’ve always thought about doing this and wondered if I'd be happier with 2 single seats with a console in the middle than the factory set up I have now...

That is my truck and what I have now and it's alright for me. I’m just wondering how much it would cost me to yank out my original passenger seat and middle console and through in another single seat for the passenger and put in a different center console.

Sorry I tried using the search button at the bottom, but all the pictures or sites with recommended parts and prices weren’t available anymore. I'm just wondering if anyone else has done it or thought about doing it and can recommend it to me or not. Thanks, Shane

I've always wondered why not just purchase another drivers side seat and stick in on the passenger side instead of cutting up the passenger seat and middle bench?

I thought the same thing, as long as the bolts line up was my question. As far as the manual controls being on the left hand side, I don’t care. I was just wondering overall cost of another driver’s side seat, a middle console and any other parts I’d need.
And after doing it, if it's worth it. Thanks, Shane

Well the biggest reason being that it is WAY more expensive that way.
Besides the fact that the bottom cushion is different and the controls are on the wrong side it is just not cost effective.
It only costs about $300 to get the seat cut. I am sure a new electric seat costs alot more.
I know what you guys are going to say next."what about cutting a perfectly good seat and I could not go back to stock appearring.

I say that you could Easily exchange your cut seat and console with somebody with a regular passenger seat if you choose to do so. I am sure you would get about 20 offers.

That is why it is done this way. Easy and cheap and most of all ,it works.

Hope this helps.

$300 is what it cost me. Since you live in Illinious you might want to ask SVTRobG (He hangs out on the Harley forums more now) were there is an apolster that does this.

About the console- Thats a toughy. a lot of guys want to do this conversion but cannot find a used console. It is from a 2000 to 2002 WIDE expedition center console.

I got mine from Ford but I have a connection (Sorry,he will only take care of me) so I did not pay and arm and a leg.
Keep trying junkyards and the internet and Good luck.

Also you will need a new handle, spring assembly and bracket (about $140) for it to work.

So $300-350 for cut seat, $140-150 for brackets and about $200-300 for console . Lowball -$640 up to $800. It used to be cheaper but it is hard finding the consoles.

Disclaimer- I must add that Badazz516 was the first L in N.J. with this done and also the cut Wet okales

Cool

(I've spent some time as a automotive seating engineer)

If someone ever did take a different seat and put in on the pass side? You'd want to make dang sure the "feet" that attach it to the floor are MUCH stronger than the seat frame/track and bolt up to the stock floor / seat locations.

These points are designed, engineered and tested for crash situations.

just an fyi, WOT

hey VINN, do you have the part #s for the passanger seat hardware? My interior guy is only charging me 100 bux to cut down the seat since he's doing a few other things for me at the same time. Im itching to get this damn Navi Console +GPS installed so my stupid azz doesnt get lost as much. Does anyone have an upclose pic of the passanger seat stitching?

the only bad thing about that center console and the main reason I never really did it is for the positions. That middle seat comes in handy with your woman and I'm not about ready to give that up.
