For those of you with Electric Fan & Water Pump Mods?

I have all of JDM's Stage 1 Kit and all of Stage 2 with the exception of the Electric Fan & Water Pump. Are these good mods to have? Can you feel a power difference with these mods? Give me your opinions!

Also, I notice that JDM's is more expensive that Johnny Lightnings, is there a major difference in product? Which would you recomend. Thanks for your help and opinion guys!

the unit should be the similar if not the same. Both the efan and pump should be the same...but not sure about the wiring differences. you may want to give each a call. also, although not speaking for JDM here, but if I have ordered everything from them so far (your list of mods) i would ask for a discount.....

btw, they are excellent mods to have, especially if you go to the track any.

It is your money so you spend it were you want but both fans are not the same. If you go to JLs site and look at the pic and then go to JDM site and look at the pic you will see what I mean.
JLs fan blades do not look as beefy as JDMs. This is not a flame on JL. I am sure his kit works fine, just my observation.

Also, It is a great all around everyday mod that also helps gas mileage.
After I put mine on I wondered why I did not do that earlier.
The OEM fan that attaches to the motor is Heavy .

I have the JDM kit, which is ALL FORD PARTS!!In my opionion there is no HP gains to be had,but it will eliminate about 30#s and the engine runs alot smoother and is more quiet.

No seat-of-the-pants improvement. Really quiets down the engine. . . which of course just lets you hear all the other racket it makes. Wait for JDM to offer a special on the e-fan/pump, or talk them into a better price if you want it right now.

And like svt360 said, JDM's kit is all Ford parts, which makes the change a lot less noticable.

Believe it or not. There are HP gains to be had with the e fan and pump.Think of the stock fan turning while you are racing?Huge drag on the motor. And the pump is designed to cut down on cavitation of water wihich adds in cooling and heat transfer.Stan

No horsepower gains, less loss turning the water pump and less inertia rotating the (HEAVY) fan. I noticed quicker throttle response. One problem: the lower thermostat temprature required me to run the heater much harder below -10 degrees to stay comfortable. Otherwise, I like my JDM kit.

The best think I like about the electric fan, is it quite's the motor compartment. Man that clutch fan is noisy

JDM Fan/Pump, can't wait to get it on...its quality is top notch, the instructions are dummy proof, and the wiring looks factory....

I didn't want to start a new tread with this question and this is good place to ask it. Is it a good idea to run a electric water pump on a daily driver or is the cobra water pump a better choice.

Thanks MIke

I believe there are a couple people running them on their daily drivers. I don't see a problem with it, I think a good quality pump you wouldn't have to worry about reliability any more than worrying about your serpentine belt busting. Call Sal @ PSP for more info on the pumps, or visit his site.

Ahhhh...ask and ye shall receive. Figured I'd dyno the stock vs. Cobra R vs. Mezeire pumps on Monday (along with an Extrude Honed intake plenum and the Plasma Booster). Already spoke to my buddy who owns the shop with the dyno and I have it all day Monday...now I'm just waiting for the Mezeire pump to show up today hopefully (ordered from JDM on Thursday of last week).
