Thumbs down Reality vs 38 TopGun Dyno Chart!

Everyone knows horsepower is torque times rpm divided by 5250 (or 5252 depending on your religion). If you take 38TopGun's dyno chart and go off the torque curve, here is what the horsepower would look like. I did it in Excel but you could do it with a calculator. The blue line is his alleged torque curve, you can see I entered pretty much the exact numbers since it lays right on top of the graph's torque curve. The red line is what the horsepower would be based on those torque numbers.

Whoever faked the dyno sheet is not only a lowlife (I am very intolerant of liars) but is also so dumb that they didn't even fake it very well, this took me about 10 minutes and I am eating lunch at the same time.

Just as an FYI.........

If the torque and horsepower scales are not the same on both sides of the chart then the numbers will not cross at 5252.

Here is one of my dyno sheets........

Not that this really matters since Chet's chart only has numbers on one side but it was just meant to be an informative post. So that not everyone thinks that all dyno charts have to cross at 5252.

This is what the torque would have to look like to create that horsepower. This time the blue is the alleged horsepower, and the red is what the torque would be.

Soap, that's right, they should cross at 5250. This is because Horsepower = Torque X RPM / 5250. 5250 / 5250 = 1 (duh), so torque and horsepower will be 1:1 at that rpm.

And Chet's post has BOTH numbers on one side, sharing the same scale on that axis.

They DO have to cross at 5250, it's basic math.

Look again, your printouts have the axes skewed in relation to each other. If both sides were lined up it would cross at 5250.

Want me to Photoshop it to read 8,000? I could do a better job. Heck I'd even get the horsepower and torque numbers to jive!

A lot of pictures of the develpment of that truck were posted a long time ago. If my memory is correct, the pictures were posted in the third or fourth quarter of 2000. Prior to that, the first mention of the project was on Sal's old board, although that topic was regarding Gregg Holman making a set of long tubes headers for it. A few months later, pictures were posted.

If you're wondering, I talked with Gregg the summer of 2000 regarding long tube headers for the Lightning and had mentioned I got his name from that post. About one month ago, I talked with Gregg again to schedule an appointment to make headers for my truck and we talked briefly about the twin blown setup. To make a long story short, the twin blown setup exists.

Regarding dyno graphs, below is mine. I created it in excel using the numbers off the printed dyno sheet.

Lucky for me, I video taped the dyno session along with some, not all, of the data on the computer screen(s), just in case it's ever questioned.

Now Iam really confused, btw I allways thought that the numbers where suppose to cross at 5250 also. As hp was a calculation of the torque number. But all the dyno pulls I have done on my truck (about 6) the numbers never cross at that rpm. I was told it was because of the graph??????

Re-read my post then look at your axes again.
