How about a JBL 1200.1, most birthsheets are saything they produce around 1400 watts at 14.4 volts and they are stable at 1 ohm.

I don't want to put down your Rockford Amp, but their quaility has been going downhill for the past 4-5 years. Like an old man would say, they just don't make them like you used to. Not only was that amp probably not designed for loads below 1 ohm, but it probably doesn't have a power supply strong enough to handle sustained draw from 5 subs.

By running 1.3 ohm bridged, you are in effect taking each channel close to 1/2 ohm load. There aren't too many amps that are rated to handle that load. However, if you buy an amp that is overbuilt enough, then it should take it like a champ.

So what amps would you suggest then?

I think I'm going to get that concept amp. looks good enough to me.

The amp isnt running less than a 1ohm load. He will only need a 1ohm mono stable amp.
What does the number of subs have to do with the amps power section?
Each channel? Its a mono amp.
Oy.

Sorry for the error, I didn't realize that it was a mono amp. Oops! For the money, it sounds like a good deal to go with the Concept one.

I agree with Evilguy. I have a JBL 1200.1 and it is awsome. The amp stays ice cold and it only sells for 250.00. I got mine from BSLESS.com. You cant beat it. I have one AudioMobil 12 in a ported box and it hits really hard. My buddies cant belive that one 12 can hit that hard.

Have you considered a harrison labs ae1600(they also come in 3200 and 6400)? they're relatively cheap and you can order them for max power at the ohm rating(4, 2, or 1) that you want... I've heard good things, no personal experience, they generally pull less juice then most amps too... just a thought... only problem is there not pretty....

Somebody mentioned that the cab itself might be a liability.

A friend of mine had his stereo done last year and the first thing the builder did was make a 2 1/2' X 2 1/2' X 2' sub inclosure in the bed and then port thru the bed into the cab using 4 large tubes. This also freed up the inside of the cab to mount all the amps and hardeware. Sorry, I don't know anything about stereo's so I don't know all the brand names but I do know it sounds INCREDIBLE.

OK, RTKILLA, You need an Orion HCCA

http://www.mainstreet-audio.com/orio...amplifiers.htm

I'm not sure that's the best price, but I couldn't find the main web site

I know soundstream makes an amp that is pretty stable down to one ohm. I gotta run for now, but if I find the main site I'll post it. I've been running a mid level Orion amp for 10 years, and it's still cranking out the bass. It's even pretty stable below it's max 2 ohm rating.

edit: OK, it looks like they have redone their line of amps.

http://www.orioncaraudio.com/

Still one ohm stable, rated at 2500 watts for the big one. "2500 screaming watts of pure class D, 1 ohm stable mayhem!"

Well guys the concept looks like the big winner tonight. Its going to fit perect under the seat and its got all the right specs for my setup. We'll see what 5 10's with 500 watts each sounds like now, HEHEHEHEHE.

"RTKILLA"
Home to the worlds soon to be loudest lightning with all the audio equipment in the cab, HAHAHHHAHA.
