Thumbs up My 4# Pulley is in; HOLY MASSIVE TORQUE BATMAN!!!

Well, got my truck back from REM today. Got a 4#'er installed, along with some TR6's, a dyno tune on my existing chip, and an oil change.....

Here's the before and after:

Pre-pulley: 335.4 RWHP and 431.4 RWTQ
With pulley: 351.4 RWHP and 490.4 RWTQ

same day, before and after dyno, with appropriate cool down, 185* coolant temperature.

I must say, the kick in the **** torque this thing has now is unreal.........I remember before to get a nice downshift, head-snap from 4th to 2nd gear, I'd have to be doing about 45 or so........If I did it from 60, it'd be soft...........now if I do the same tests, I will nearly decapitate myself from a 45mph roll......

I can BARK BARK BARK 2nd to 3rd gear shifts now seemingly at will, and the needle stays pegged at about 13.5 #'s on the Autometer. Normal driving is also much more pleasurable, with a lot less foot action required for normal passing, merging, etc.

Needless to say, I am a very happy camper..............plus I filed my taxes today, and I'm getting back almost 2G's!!
Might be time for some traction bars, and a 2nd program on my chip!!!

JC

I asked Paul for a relatively conservative tune, because I'm a ******* and don't wanna blow stuff up............Since I have the delta chip, whenever I get around to getting the 2nd program, I'll add a more aggressive tune on the flip side to get me more ponies.......For now I'll enjoy my extra 60#/ft of torque!!!

Spankdog,
Keep in mind this is a Mustang Dyno...........the numbers are on average 10-12% lower than a DynoJet..........there's a formula floating around somewhere, that EDZ from our friendly Florida SVT site came up with............I think that puts me roughly right around 385-390 RWHP on a DynoJet.

Sounds good to me. I'm headed to a dynojet this weekend and I'm hoping to see the 400/500 numbers......who knows..gonna pick up some 100 octane for my race program and see what I can do.

Reminds me of my results (off by a bit - very conservative tune for me too) .

Also, my dyno was on a Mustang as well...few complaints that the thing had been reading low for other guys before hand but as long as it's relative from one pull to the next it's fine by me for my needs with the L...

Before :

JDM cold air
Chip
Magnaflow muffler
Boost bypass
Breather cap
----------------------
359.1rwhp / 426.2rwtq

After

JDM 4lb pulley
JDM cold air
Chip (new)
Bassani (now it sounds right!)
Boost bypass
Breather cap
-----------------------
383.5rwhp / 479.5rwtq

Putting longtubes and hiflo cats on in the next 2 weeks...

Your power horsepower numbers are that of a stock Lightning, but the torque numbers are good, I dyno`d my truck 3 weeks ago, results below.

386.5 rwhp
481.5 rwtq
air fuel ratio
11.7

This was with my flipchip set on my winter program, its was to cold to dyno my summer program.

mods listed below.

Larry.

Mustang Dyno's show lower power then a dyno jet because a Mustang Dyno can put your L at full load as if it was on the street opposed to the 1600 max lb load capable on the dyno jet.
