Need help from Shaker Hood owners

I took mine off to do some installs in the engine, but now I am having a few problems reinstalling it. What steps did you guys take to install/reinstall/adjust it? I am getting a little impatient of the back and forth and cjeck routine. Is there an easier way? Thanks in advance.

nope

Just back and forth...

Make sure you mark the washers and stuff so you don't have to do it again.

A little tip I learned from RobG. Once you find the sweet spot then mark around the washers so everytime after that it is easy.

I just figured out why it was being such a PITA. the front driver side bolt mount was oreiented in such a way that it wouldn't allow me to move the shaker any further to the left, so I just loosened it up turned it slightly, and VOILA!!! (or however you spell it...)

Now I just have to figure out how high I want it.

I am sure you know this already , but the higher it is the less it shakes, unless you trim the gasket.

An old body mans trick is once you've got the hood perfectly aligned and the bolts snugged down, centerpunch the hinge and carefully drill a 1/8" hole through the hinge and inner structure of the hood. A depth guide or masking tape around the bit will prevent damaging the outer structure. Once done, any time the hood is removed, the alignment holes will allow you to drift the hood into place.
