any one switch thier sway bars?
The Hotchkis bars are about 8 lbs. lighter, as I recall, but they are 50% stiffer. That was the first suspension mod than I did, and it stiffened up the front end enough to exacerbate the already obnoxious factory understeer. Now that I have the other goodies on, the truck is much better balanced. But of course if you are a drag racer your goal is not handling but weight transfer, so like VINNIE you may want no bar at all.

I'm sure that the day I take it off, I will get a flat, in the front...which would require me to take a back tire, put it in the front (to clear the brakes) and put the spare on the back.
Its my luck.

Vinnie would you compare driving with and without the sway bar? If i drive my truck every day to school and work, and dont drag race it every night, Leave it on there? Or if you cant tell that much with it off, ill take mine off. Any info or suggestions for me, thanks, Shane
Shane,
I drove my truck about 100 miles without the front sway bar. The truck tends to wander and hunt cracks and seams in the road without it on. I did not like it at all. It drove like my '88 K-5 without it.

alright thats what ive heard. i dont mind leaving it on.... but as far as if i go to the track, can i take it on and off easily? and is it even worth the trouble if any to take it off for 3-4 runs at the track? Also how much does it weigh? Thanks, Shane

there is a group buy going on a nhtoc right now for rear sway bars....almost 40 people in on it so far
