Doug and BA

There are a couple issues here.

First - Neither of you are Supporting vendors and both are using the forum for your financial benefit. Whether you posted contact info or not is really immaterial. This post and others have turned into advertising of sorts.

Second - While I personally see value in getting both sides of the story out in the open. We cant have a pissing match here.
Take it offline.

Doug

I saw this coming weeks ago. Lmao...

Some of you paid high dollar $$ for a billet version of FRPP's worthless throttle body Anyone figure out why they discontinued it?

I bought a blue anodized one from mark last month.he showed me the difference between the accufab the frpp and the billet fow on his bench.they are definitely different but the basic t/b design is the same type.i can tell much more work went into the billet flow. the biggest difference was the quality. doug the power pipe is beautiful too. ill be getting that next.

I think you've got the wrong thread buddy. Posts like that go in the "$1700 nice-sounding exhaust system" threads

Since this thread is regarding BABolt, I'm positive that my initial post is right on the money. The tips sure were pretty though....

Sorry Doug but I have to disagree with you on this one. I have both TB's the frpp and the BABolt TB. In looking at the two they are two completely different throttle bodies. The BABolt TB has a different lever, different overall shape and completely different out side and inside lips. So I am not sure how someone could copy the frpp TB and end up with a BABolt TB. Below is a pic of the BABolt TB:

I too am sorry Hankfan, but you should look closer. I also have an FRPP TB and a Ford twin bore and an orginal TB that I produced about 2 years ago. And I remember having my employee draw it up in CAD. The TB we designed and manufactured for Mike was a cross between the FRPP TB and the stock twin bore. The Lever does not make the TB. The outside lip is just like the stock unit and the inside lip.... well to be honest.... we simply used two angle cutters that we had laying around the shop.

Are you trying to say that Mike brought us "Blue Prints", a drawing, a sketch on a napkin?

Just because YOU are not sure how someone could copy the FRPP TB and end up with a BaBolt TB does not make it untrue.

Below is a screen dump of the TB we designed and manufactured for BaBolt-ons: I have many more in my archives.

FWIW, I've seen an "original" BABolt throttle body that a local '99 owner had purchased a few years back. The funny thing is that it looked just like an FRPP TB except it was polished aluminum instead of magnesium. It didn't have the Lightning logo on the top. In fact, upon first seeing the part, Shaun from JDM actually mistook it for a polished FRPP TB.

Yes I couldnt agree more... I believe it. No wonder no one has seen those power pipes in the flesh.

However this type of story is nothing new compared to some of the other scams I hear about going on in the Lightning underground every now and then! LOL
