Top entry vs rear entry??
Aren't top fuel blowers top feed?
blower pics
These blowers appear to bring the air in all along the top of the rotors. So, if the top-entry M112 loses 10% air flow because 10% of it's rotors are exposed... how much flow do these blowers lose???

even the high helix blowers are top feed. What peaple dont seem to understand is that when you rear feed the blower, the air is obviously entering from one end and to load the rotor lobes with a fresh air charge the full length of the rotor just isn't gonna happen at high rotor speeds so efficiency has got to drop off.
The way I see it, with a top entry you have the rotors batting the air away and as the speed goes up you loose something. With a rear entry you have a feeding problem to. I don't know wich one is worse, but stay tuned, I bet we're gonna find out.

Hey guys, spend some time checking out the following links. While they are off Whipple's site, the info pertianing to the design and operation of the twin screw also applied to the KB.

Sounds to me like this test was done on a bench with just the blowers and not with the intakes and all the other working parts. WOW Richard you figured that out did you? I thought we were interested in the SC's NOT Intakes!! AtLeast Not YET!...
WOW... 10% loss from a top entry quoted by Jim Belle?
That was with the OLD Style Unit...The NEW DESIGNED Unit Flows alot more than the old unit......
This is really sad to see the level a great tuner has taken it to. The influence has started....
Just because i have stated the facts of a Test that was conducted?????

I called Works and told them about his thread, and they said there are only two 140's out. They thought the the whole thing was pretty funny. Who in their right mind would believe JL? and think that Works would sell a unit to a competitor before the kits are ready for sale to actual customers?
You say that ony 2 140's are out? The 140 (2.3)Lyshom has been out for a LONG time! Anybody can get 1 to (adapt) it to their needs!! The 140 is just being (adapted) to fit the Lightning by the *works* Company..

LMAO. You think KB's are hand built from scratch? Dude.. Youre dreaming!
The *NEW* KB Unit is the *ONLY* TwinScrew Blower that is Custom designed for the Lightning/HD Truck in the world! ALL others at this time are just an Adaption of a *current* SC Made to fit a Lightning! Jim Bell has put his $$ up and has Designed a Twin Screw From Scratch by molding a new casting, Developing NEW designed Rotors, and has made it to Bolt up Directly Like the stock unit with a Bypass Valve in the Stock Location too!!! I'm Very Happy Jim Bell has Made such an Awsome blower just for us! And chose not to make an *Adation Kit* for 1 of his current units!

If the test was done on a supercharger test bench that not only test MAF and inlet/outlet temps but has the ability to record power consumption, I don't know why it is so unbelievable.
A test like this would show the differences between the top entry and rear entry as plain as day.
Exactly! Thats why the test was done between the 140 & The KB Units *ONLY*!! To test the Units against each other Apples to Apples!! The Intakes will be tested here shortly and we'll see what the results are..I really don't know for sure at the moment but by the design of the flowzilla i have seen i think it will Produce enough flow to back up its name *FLOWZILLA!.....

You know what, it does not matter what proff is posted. Lies are 10 times easier to make a product look good.
I wish you all the best of luck with WHATEVER product you use. I am tired of seeing people go downhill because of lies.

Lies ?? what lies ???
I see two tunners who are very passionate about there products and are defending the hell out of them.
But they are both smart and have way too much to loose to be caught lying.....dont you think ???

There are many engineers viewing this thread from various blower companies laughing not at just JLP, but Belle themselves...
You will see the pain and suffering when you need to deal with KB direct for warranty work.. You will also bow your head in shame when you get smoked by a 140 powered truck.. The kits are on their way to certain vendors. In a matter of weeks, the smack will be laid down.
I still dont know why Easterbunny hasnt honored by bet.
