The moderator says, "Don't feed the trolls." but he won't do a simple thing to help all of us.

MANY OF OUR TRUCKS ARE LAUNCHING PLUGS! Silver 2000, why is the thread below not a sticky? The "new year resolution"...no vender bashing should be replaced with "STICKY, IF YOU LAUNCHED A PLUG, DO THIS."

I'm aware of the bandwidth restrictions, I agree with no vender bashing, but we got a problem here!

This is a great forum, but I feel that this problem should be addressed.

The power of this forum could be used for leverage in certain circumstances. If collectivly it's membership could or would unite
towards some common goals...Pay to play is one of them...If vendors support this forum why wouldn't they..not pointing any fingers...modifications and aftermarket parts that are addressed in the Magnuson Moss act and ****sumer advocates quote the law alot...When do they stand up for it. I've been a fairly good customer to Ford..maybe a so so customer to others.

Granted I have my own interests in mind....

But I am willing to support a common initiative......

I agree. It is time to change the sticky. Its mid Feb. now. A plug sticky might be beneficial to all.

This boards forum software is capable of having more then one sticky. I think the plug issue should be addressed as well.

I also feel, if you take as much pride as to owning and cleaning your lightnings, you should also put the same effort fourth to the mechanical side. This includes engine maint such as checking your plugs, changing your fuel filter every 6000 miles and checking for leaks on your cylinder heads and rear diff and axles. Detecting early trouble may save you in the long run.

Guys

We could have a page of stickys...

Dont run over 120 for a long time
Check your A/F
Tighten your plugs - before they launch
Replace your Fuel Filter
Cold weather blows engines
Dont feed the trolls
Head gasket Leaks
Fog Light issues
Intercooler issues
Ford Warranty issues
Events from all over the country

Clearly we cant have stickys for all those things.

Ironically the New years resolution thread has been there for 6 weeks and has only been read 1/3 as many times as the troll thread that started yesterday. Doesnt say much for the effectiveness of stickys...

Doug

EDIT - I reread the thread in question - And decided to make it sticky for a while BUT keep in mind we cant leave it there forever, or untill Ford decides to try to fix the issue....

I think we need to re-instate the search police while we are at it.

krueger a sticky is a topic that stays at the top of page one. Its usually something important, or one we need lots of ppl to read

I also agree we need a big FAQ forum, where we make topics on FAQ, that would be the easyest way

Doug, great job moderating the site. I do have to disagree with your sticky effectiveness camparison. The resolution sticky is closed, I only read closed threads once. Threads getting alot of posts are read many times..

Thanks for stickin the blown plug thread and good luck guys!!

**** - There has been a link to the FAQ in the "Read this first thread" for years.

Since were buddies and everything - I ll tell you I have been updating it and have asked for some help a number of times from folks here but did get any help.

I was hoping to get some help from the 2002 and 2003 owners but I couldnt even get someone to compile a list of differences between the years. With no one else too interested I have moved the FAQ down in my priority list of things to maintain.

Doug
