I've never tried kick panels in a truck before, but from what I've read trucks are really to hard get that sweet spot in because they don't have the accoustics most cars have.

If you are going to with components, make sure you amp them and give them the power they want. It makes a difference. Consider that when you decide which ones to get.

Personally I went with 6 1/2 components. The woofers are in the doors mounted on either 1/2" or 3/4" mdf. Holes are countersunk to screw into the stock location and the woofer can be mounted directly over them.

The tweeters are in the sail panels aimed into the windows. I figured "why not, it can't be that bad". They bounce off the glass and fill the front pretty good.

I don't have that sound stage that SQ perfections would like, but it's enough to make me happy. Remember, in the end it's your money and your ears.

Most of the speaker setps were very cool but whoever hacked up there door panel with those surface mount triaxles should be beaten until stupid, maybe I'm too late, I don't care how amazing they sounded, this should not be done it just ruins the interior. Just my opinion, T

You could do something like this. Fiberglass panel wrapped in black suede.
