Sal, question?
Sal, question?
I've read you recommended the BR7's for 4lbs or boost or more to some. I really can't afford the denso's and will be running NGK's. I am going to put on a 4lb pulley, should I try the TR6's first and then switch if I have a problem or just throw in the BR7's for extra safety and live with a miss at idle? thanks
Well, personally I'd go with the BR7s off the bat if the Denso's are not an option. Look at it this way, if you put the BR7s in now, you have no worries. If you put the TR6s in now, they may work fine, you might burn one up, or you might burn one up AND an exhaust valve. Better to be safe than chance it.
I'm daily driver with 5+ boost. Been using stock for a few months (plugs). I went with the denso it-22's Still sitting around not installed, (bought from sals). I hope they'll be better for daily driven (rarely 10+lbs throttling). well anyways I read the BR7-s are ok but sal said on his website not best for daily drivers...

They don't foul (I really need to change that). That was just early speculation we had on them years ago because of how cold they are. But many people (myself included) have run them full time, daily, in cold climates with no problems.
sal since you're here the denso it-22's will be good daily drivers right? I don't get onmy L much either... ?

The TR6's will be fine for your 4# lower. I have run a 3# lower and a 75hp shot of nitrous for over a year now and the TR6's have held up fine. Just be sure than your tune is safe and that you change your fuel filter often. Most people who have burned up the TR6's have either ran way to aggressive programs or ran lean due to a clogged fuel filer.

I have not run the BR7's personally but I have heard from several other L owners that the BR7's are too cold for a daily driver and the miss at idle is horrible. I would just run the TR6's. They will hold up just fine. I have personally seen them stand up to a 5# lower and a 100hp shot for over a year on my cousins truck. It's all in the tune!
Keep in mind Denso's ceramic break EASY and the electrodes dont last with even a tiny bit of detonation. For $90, this is just to expensive to solve the low end miss for such a cold plug and are just to weak for the coin $$.
The NGK's are a much tougher plug but... they do miss at idle. Ive gotten use to it.

I've been running TR5's for almost a year now with 5 lbs added boost with no problems. Why is it so necessary to go with the colder plugs?
