predict my ET ??????

hey guys, here is the scoop.

bought an 01 Lightning 28k miles.
had a 2lb upper, and a Sean Hyland chip, went 12.9 on ET streets
this is with previous 53 year old owner.

I am a diehard street racer and can pull some great ETs, but I
prefer to do them on Nittos.

I added a 4# lower, Johnny Lightning air filter set-up, had
JL re-do a Diablo chip after data logging. Factory Tech valvebody,
electric fan, breather, boost bypass mod, Nittos, oil separator,
cooler thermostat, and removed front sway bar.

What do you think???????

Yeah, I forgot I have Denso It20s.

I am getting psyched.......

I am hoping for 12.5s on Nittos, and 12.3s on the ET streets,
with the front skinnies that I found on e-bay. 16X7 Alcoa Stars,
and some Nittos radials, barely used, $185 total.

thanks guys,

your quick too.......

In all actuality, I am going to Johnny Lightning's next weeks, my
Feb 8th appointment got cancelled due to 8 inches of the white stuff.

So, getting tuned Feb 22, first track day Feb 23rd...wish me luck.

You will not gain 2 tenths going from Nitto's to ET Streets. Hell if track prep is decent you will most likely cut near identical times no matter which tire you run.

What does a 53 year old previous driver have to do with anything? As for your future times you know your self there are many verables... Saw truck with more mods then your run 13.1 in mid summer .. You should see 12.3's under good conditions..

PEaCE....................

Id say 12.5-12.6.

if he went 12.9 with a 2lb pully,he was getting good traction to begin with

As people are saying, if ANYONE can run 12's with just a chip and 2lb pulley I'd say he's a dam good driver and had the perfect conditions and traction. Temp is EVERYTHING with a lightning.
And 6lbs of pulley will work against you ON A HOT DAY.
I ran a 12.8 with a 4lb pulley on BALD F-1's.
Now I have many added Mod's and believe I can run an 11 on the perfect Day but I don't plan on it. Thats why I'm installing juice. Not so much for more power, but instead for more consistant times and not having to worry about hot days and loosing 3/10ths. There's nothing like squirting sub zero into the Throttle Body, Manifold, + S/C, to wake a motor up, and make it run consistant each time

Hey Kid, I mean, Cobrakid, I think with good traction your truck should go 12.40's with your additional mods. Don't sell us "old coots" short. I'm 47 going on 20 and still cut .508 lights at the track. Point is, just besause you're younger, doesn't mean you're gonna be quicker. Us old guys have a few tricks up our sleeves that you young guys won't learn until you get what's known as "seat time". I know what you're thinking, been there, done that, so that being said, good luck with your hot rod and keep the shinny side up, John H.

If you can launch it like a pro, i would say a 12.3....with those mods.

sorry, didn't mean the age thing that way, hell I'm 32, not 18.

What I meant was that he isn't a track junkie like me and
is not into it 110% like I am. I strain to get get every little
hundreth out of the vehicles I abuse, I mean race.

My reasoning behind me thinking that I would pick up with
the ET streets, is that they are a lot shorter, ie more gear, plus
when I have them on, I will have the front skinnies on.

thanks for all of the replies.

My guess is around 12.5, good track and a solid launch.
