do caltracs really rattle that much?

In the market for traction bars and came across the caltrac "anti-rattle kit." This, of course, implies that the bars rattle...

How bad is it? Do you guys recommend I purchase the "anti-rattle kit"?

Also, I want a t-bar that helps out in the twisties a bit too, which ones am I looking for? Slapper bars? or ..umm...the other kind? (sorry I don't know my traction bars very well)

I know this post has been done to death but you don't understand how many results i'm getting with a search. it'd be a lot more convenient for me to ask instead of try to parse through the gobs of info on this site. sorry and i hope the search ***** don't rape me on this one

I plan on the roush suspension or maybe a 2/3 drop MAX (hotchkis)....will non-truck-trak type bars be at risk for not being compatible with the drop? also I plan on a silver bullet or bassani in the future too...if that effects anything at all.

thanks

Metco lower links will work fine, with room to drop much more if you wish. But you will need to have the exhaust reworked to clear the front mounts.

I have run a set for over 2 years, the frist year without the anti-rattle and they were rattley! The kit stopped all noise. I love the caltracs and they have really helped me hook up and keep the truck straight when doing those long burnouts across the intersections.

I love the Caltracs, They make some noise but I dont care. It lets you know they are working....

But seriously, its not loud to the point where I would take it all back apart. If your really worried, get the kit and install it when you do the bars...

The Truck Tracs are a great part as well, I had them and loved them.

Here is my thoughts....

Caltracs- More for a REAL RACE Application, If you use them on a daily driven truck, you need to unload the preload, I leave mine setup for RACE 100% of the time with NO issues, but I only drive for Race Pleasure....

Truck Tracs- More for the part time racer, you never know they are there.

Both of these work well with the 3/4 Drop kit.

I have the aniti rattle and it makes no noise. If it does it must be beyond my threshold. Never had them on without them.

Looks like I will go with the truck traks then. I am not an all out dragracer and would prefer more driveability on the street over the caltracs....

how are the truck traks different from the lakewoods then? both are slapper bars correct? how do slapper bars work compared to a different style bar like the caltracs? i've heard that slapper bars only decrease wheel hop...does it also eliminate axle wrap and reduce stress on the driveshaft like the "other bars do"?

Either ones will be great for you, but stay away from the Lakewoods. You must reinforce the lakewoods if you want them to stand up with the trucks power.
