Aftermarket Hoods

Hey Guys:

I ordered the Harwood cowl hood for my L. and was told by a guy at work that I shouldn't get it painted right away. He said the fibreglass should be "aged" in the sun for a few weeks before it gets painted. I have never heard of this before. I also plan on getting the Pro Sport tonneau and it comes painted from the factory, so why should I have to wait to paint the hood? Can any of you guys with aftermarket hoods help me out with this? What did you do? Thanks.

Thats true, besides you "should" trial fit the hood before you pay to prep and paint the hood. If there's a problem with the fit, most manufactors will not take back a painted hood. Your painter can "speed cure" the hood Ask him/her

Thanks Gator. I just assumed the hood would be painted on the truck. I take it they would paint it first and then install it. Nice truck BTW.
