Bassani installed. Questions.

I installed my Bassani Cat Back today and it went great. I took the truck for a drive and jumped on it a couple of times and when I came back the tips had turned up and were touching the bodywork in the outlet. I just pushed the tips back down.

My question is, will this happen again? Right after I was done installing I ran the truck for about 20 minutes and then re-tighten all the clamps. After that is when I went for the drive and the tips moved. Also, after the exhaust cooled enough for me to touch it I tried to move the tips and could not do so.

Other than the above everything went great. The clamps did a good job holding the X-pipe and the mufflers and all the brackets lined up like they were supposed to. The best part was my stock exhaust came off in five minutes with no damage.
The install of the Bassani took about two hours as I checked and re-checked everything I did.
Sounds good but smells like sh*t.
John

Loosen all the bolts and clamps, then reposition it where you want it and retighten. It's common for them to be out of alignment on the first try.

I agree with Tim. Try loosening many of them and then reposition it and tight the clamps up again. The warmer the better when doing this.

Yeah, it does stink for a little while....

If you think the Bassani smells when new, you should smell those header gaskets......Try tightening the crap out of the flanged joints behind the mufflers after you set the tips. I never had any problems with my tips moving

Ditch those *****ty bassani clamps and go with regular U type ones. You should have no movement.
