For all you aftermarket blower folks...built tranny?

With more and more folks slapping KBs and Works blowers, I'm wondering if you've all taken the precautions as far as the transmission goes? Seems that our 4R100s were still considered a weak point even though they've been overshadowed with all these blown plug/thrown rod issues of late.
So for those who are netting healthy dyno #s waaay beyond factory output, is a built tranny (monsterbox, etc) on the way? Or at least a chunk of change set aside for one?

Our selves haveing gone through three transmissions, would highly suggest a built trans. Abuse over time on the nitrous wore out the 1-2 clutch packs. It gets real sloppy till one day it wont shuft while there is load on it.
I was planning on pulling my tranny this winter and playing with it myself. With my never ending leg injury I was not able to do it. Once I get better and have an open corner in the shop to stick my truck in I plan on doing something with.......just to experiment with it. I will let everyone know what I do and how it comes out. -Mat-
If you're just "gonna take it apart and play with it" give me a call first and we'll have a nice long talk about it. You'll need a few special tools to get it back together, it'll come apart without them (story of MY life) and there are a few things that seem trivial that are absolutely critical when you put it back together. One of my dealers bought clutch packs from me a few years back, had a Ford Dealer Tranny mechanic install them, the tech didn't get the orientation of the #5 snap ring right, which is critical, and he burned the tranny up. (the #5 goes with the gap at the 6 o:clock position, for all you do it yourselfers out there)

Hey Greg, If you would plese can you give me a little more info on your monsterbox. I am thinking of heading in that direction. And thanks again for all the info you gave me previously. I was wondering also, if the Monster box will be able to handle the torque if the torque reduction is disabled via a chip? You can e-mail me at ecm747x@yahoo.com if you would like. Thanks again
As for the post, I am building up my bottom end, the KB is on order for delivery in early March and yes I will be changing the stock tranny. Plus a few other items/mods. I should be at about 560 rwhp but need 104 oct to accomplish. That being on a standard day. More if temps and humidity are high. That will be only for race day though. Not sure on the hp on 92 oct rating. Will dyno for both and see the end result. Plan date on finishing..April 15th
That should make it one of the faster HDs" on the road. Even give some of you lightning boys a good run maybe..lol
