home made induction question?
home made induction question?
Hey guys. Started looking into making my own air induction for the truck. I went to Home depot and all i can say is OMG!
Went to the Tools section where the industrial shop vacs were. I found everything and then some i needed. nice tubing and the perfect nozzle for a scoop.
couldnt look better either. all these fittings and adapters. Total price = $30 bucks at the most.
But one problem. What can i use to mount the scoop onto the bumper? was wondering what everyone else did for their setup. and tips or tricks?
thanx

All you need is about 1.5 inch wide flat metal stock, about 1/4" thick. One piece needs to be about 4.5" long and the other about 10" long. Nuts, Bolts and Washers, Black spray paint and your in business.
If you are running the houses into the stock airbox, put a baffle or something over the opening so that the houses don't shoot the air straigh up. If you do it will cause airflows problems with the air already coming in from the fendors.
Do a search on airboxes or my screenname for more info.
Good luck

captainoblivious. never thought about that.
here was my idea that i thought about for awhile. May not affect it. The hoses are a pretty good size. i was going to run them and put part of the hose in the rubber boot from the stock fender hole.
wait..think i know what you are talking about now. thought about using silicone as a filler around the edges to my stock boot ermm...let me look up your stuff...

RTKILLA,
Where did you get the rubber hose with the 90's in them? also I see you have 2 mass air sensores do they both function? How did you make them work together? Are you happy with the system?

I've Read most of the old threads
And was just curious of the best free air type setup. I read captainoblivious oldsetup up and how it created some sort of vaccum. And was wondering if my truck would gain from a single 3inch duct tube feeding the air box as opposed to a dual duct setup.. and is there a need to screen the opening that I will be creating while installing the duct tube? any adve would be appreciate
