Lightning suspension in Lariat Supercab

Has anyone tried putting Lightning front coil springs & rear( 5 leaf )springs in a 4x2 suspension?
Do any Lightning owners want to part with their OEM parts?

What he said. If you're going to upgrade, UPGRADE. I have OEM Lightning coils and leafs that I would let go very cheaply, but if you're going to go to the trouble, get the good stuff. Except I think the Hotchkis coils are mismatched to their leafs, too soft and they will induce oversteer. If you like swapping ends, OK, but otherwise get some Ruslow coils, 1000 lb./in. or up. Of course you may need to upgrade your dental plan, too.

If I didn't race my L, I would not be happy with an aftermarket suspension. I think that SVT hit the nail on the head with the L suspension. Just the right combination of handling and ride comfort.

I do not regret the Hotchkis for a second, but for pure street use, the stock suspension with a FRPP 1/2" drop kit would be my choice.

You keep saying this, George, but where are you getting this from? I am the only one I know of who reported any oversteer with the Hotchkis system, and it was very mild high-speed oversteer (just a feeling of twitchiness, really) and solved with anti-sway bar geometry and tire pressure.

You were out there with me at the SVTOA event. I only went around once, but recovered without even tapping a cone. The truck felt perfectly balanced to me, with just a hint of understeer. Dave Schotz drove it for several laps and rode for several more and thought it handled great. I forget--did you drive or ride in my truck? I am still having nightmares about my ride with you.

I appreciate all the "field knowledge" from those that have been there. I wish i was in your shoes driving the baddest truck built these days but...
I was thinking about the L parts due to being able to get them at slightly over cost and plus the fact that both my Lariat S/C and the L have tow packages , i would like the lowered look and the towing capibility.
Any ideas or input?

I think Boss Lariat enjoys "tinkering" with his truck. Afterall, It is a ford so it is worth while to improve. That is one badass Burl Walnut kit he has in it for dash trim. .
