Why not?

It is in-efficient to over speed a blower then bleed it off.
I find it much cheaper to just not put my foot down as far.

I heard if you play with the boost bypass too much it will have a negative effect on supercharger life. Don't know if it is true or not>??? -Mat-

Looks like it might be a nice little adjuster for the boost, I don't know the negative effects of it but I don't see there being to man for it? It would be just as easy to run a interchangable pulley setup and probably better for the blower and motor anyway.
