Oil level on dipstick

Oil level on dipstick

Where should the oil be at on the dipstick on my truck. I put 5 1/2 mobil one in it and want to make shure I dont add to much if i add any all.

I always put a full 6 quarts in during my oil change. Fill up the oil filter then pour the rest in. I am always in the "ok" zone on my stick. I use Motorcraft synthetic 5W-20. -Mat-

Some guys find 5.5 qts keeps the oil out of the intake and doesn't hurt anything. I put in 6 qt.

The level should be mid-way between the min. and max.--not all the way to max.

if you let the truck sit overnight and check it the dipstick will be at the full mark with 6 qts. After starting the truck it will be in the middle or lower part of the hash marks.

thanks for the responses. mines 3/4 of the way up after sitting for 2 days.
