Vinnie,

Just admit that it was you who, in your pizza and beer induced stupor, cross-threaded the plug and then tried to hide your faux paus with a zip tie and chewing gum...all to no avail.

I'm busted, but the pizza was good.

I had # 5 helicoiled and it has held up fine with more boost[heat] then anyone in there right mind[this does not include me] would run,and possibily more boost then anyone has ever ran through an Eaton m112.

Joe,just how much boost is gobs...is that like so much boost that you may as well run a flame thrower through your motor?

Gotcha

... but I was refering to something else. The thread insert I saw installed was a sleeve. But in order to install it, the whole spark plug whole tapped out to be a little bit wider, that enable the new sleeve to be in more then 4 threads. Wish I had a picture. The best way I could describe it was the sleave was 8(?) threads, same amount as the spark plug. The spark plug went into the sleeve and the sleeve went into the existing spark plug hole. Since you've had the head off you've see that the is more sidewall above the 4 threads that can be tapped.

Does that make any sense? I'll see if I can get any pictures, that may explain it a little better.

If the insert taps out the old threads and allows it to get a bite on more of the cylinder head that sounds like the way to go. If not the heli-coil looks like the better option. Looks like I am off to NAPA in a minute to check this out.

Definitely fo Helicoil or Bigcert on all eight. That's what I'm doing on my spare heads (Got some new ones from Modmax, but they are still the 4 thread jobs.)

Just my 2 cents
