Bed Rug Install?

I picked up my bedrug last night, and plan on installing it this weekend. Are there any tips, or helpful hints you guys have for me that might make the job easier?
Thanks for any replies.

Follow the instructions to the letter and make sure it's warm when you install it. You should be very happy with it. Good luck!

Why does it need to be warm when I install it? If thats the case I don't know what I am going to do. It's going to be in the 20's and 30's all weekend.

The truck needs to be warm for the Velcro to stick securely. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll try to get a portable heater for the garage and warm it up a little.

Installation is fairly easy but make sure the bed surface you are adhering the velcro to is clean. Also, after a while the velcro that holds the top of the tailgate portion came loose from the tailgate. I had to screw the velcro strips to the plastic portion of the tailgate.

You'll love it, they fit great!

It was around 70 degrees when I installed mine so just to be sure I used a hairdryer to heat up the adhesive and the contact point on the truck bed.

One other tip, if you are going to keep your tiedowns you need to go ahead and make the holes to reinstall them BEFORE you put the Bedrug up on the sides. I forgot to and had to go back and redo them. Not hard but was just a PITA.

yep i would keep the tie-downs and put them over the bedrug (predrill holes in bedrug for those locations..2 holes each i believe). it helps hold the bedrug in a bit more i guess...just a piece of mind..

Wink Bed Rug Install

sbarkley3;

Get extra velcro before starting (Home Depo) and add strips
on tailgate and front to stop it from sagging on you. It might be
best to find a heated garrage thats got a temp close to 70? Let
both set in heat untill they are around that temp. Clean bed where velcro is to go with mineral spearrats or alcohol, and when
you stick velcro on rub it down with a roller of somekind. Lots of extra velcro is not heavy but does stop sages for sure!
