What plugs are these?
I ordered a set of BR7's and when they arrived I got a set of NGK's that are labeled BP7EFS. I would assume these are not BR7's, as they are not marked BR7 anywhere on them .. but thought I would check just to be sure. To make things more confusing, the packing slip says they are TR6's.
Thanks.
Thanks.

yes, I have a 5lber, I was using TR6's before, but decided to go with BR7's this time around. The problem is that the plugs I got are labled BP7EFS , I would assume that it would be labled BR7EFS, but maybe I am wrong. Just wanted to be sure before I install them.
The plug is labeled 'NGK' and 'BP7EFS'. I got them from one of the tuners, I'd rather not say because I dont want to start another vendor bashing thread. They are cheap, and I can just go buy a new set of BR7's, but I wanted to be sure that what I have are not BR7's so I am not wasting my money.
I'm just glad i noticed it today, I'd hate to have installed them to find out they are not BR7's and they do some damage.
Are BR7's labled BP7EFS or are they BR7EFS like logic would suggest??

I just called the tuner and he said that the BR7s are labled BP7EFS. I'm really confused. Why are they called BR7's?
Well guess I will just install them this weekend then, I was just concerned because my old TR6's are marked 'TR6' on the plug, but these BR7's are not marked with BR7 on them.

im pretty sure my BR7s say BR7 right there on the plug. I installed them a while ago so im not positive but I would check on that

It sounds like you have non-resistor projected insulator plugs?

THanks for the link Turbobo, I checked it out and thats what I thought as well. But the tuner said it was the right plug ... now I dont want to install them because they may not be right.
Guess I'll just buy plugs from another tuner, and junk these???

OK
Guess I better adress this, The BR7ES is a .750 reach plug A little to long) and it's a resister plug...The BP7EFS is a non resister .708 reach plug made specifically for the 5.4 pi head remember all the common "race" plugs are non resistor.

ok, thanks TZRider, I have heard conflicting things from different people .. but now that it is cleared up, I feel better about the plugs, and will begin installing them tomorrow (if the weather permits).
Thanks
Thanks
brap: As they are non-resistor plugs, you are going to have an EFI/noise problem in your radio if you install them.
I find it interesting that they are a shorter-reach plug. I've been using the longer BR7EFs for 10,000 miles or more with no piston-touching or detonation(caused by carbon deposits on the plug edge) problems???

The BP7EFS is NOT the right plug for our trucks.
The BP7EFS is a NON-resistor plug, and will kill the coil packs. Our ignition systems need resistor plugs. It is also a projector style plug, silimar to a TR6. The BR7s are a non-projector plug, which a performance application plug, and which is why they hold up so well to high boost and nitrous applications. Both the BP7 and BR7 have a 19mm (3/4") reach. Also, the BR7 has a taper seat like stock (that's what the F stands for), and I THINK the ES has a crush washer instead of a taper seat (I got a batch of ES by mistake one time and think that's what I saw).
I would not run the BP7s. Of course you can run anything you like, or whatever your vendor suggests.

I have just talked to a few people about plugs and 2 I have not seen anyone talk about are:
NGK TR8 plugs
Motorcraft AWSFA12C
I am going to pick up some of the motorcraft to see how they are. These Denso plugs are too expensive and the insulator keeps breaking. I know, that means some detionation so I am going to switch to a cheaper plug until it is straightned out. Hopping the new 55# injectors will help.
