Gator, I looked for the actual shop manual, but it is either LOST/TRASHED/BORROWED/or STOLEN from our book room. (not abnormal for an older book). I accessed the ford website, but it is saying corrupted file? for that schematic, maybe it's too old or they are having problems with the site this morning.

I have a '99 contour manual in my hand and the diagram MAY/should be the same.

I tried to reply to you last night, but my internet service wasn't working (if you noticed posts from me yesterday evening).

anyway, I have this manual, if you have a FAX number I could send you a copy, or I can wait until tonight and try to scan it for you and send it if my e-mail is back up.

sorry, maybe somebody else can find the exact '96 that you need. if not, then let me know and I'll try to get you this one.
