Warranty reply fromK/B...good news
You can install your own blower and maintain warranty.
Warranty not void if you race the truck
RPM warranty limit is 18k[approx] 20 psi,and they go on to say that they think it is safe to run more psi
This is the short version of there non laywer speak answer.
I don't beleive you could expect more than this on a warranty for a raced aftermarket blower
They also had info about the ford warranty as it pertains to there blower.....but my ford warranty is over.
I would say this is very good news

its good to hear, too bad you had to call them up.
If I were kb I'd brag the hell out of that. WE WARRANTEE OUR BLOWERS TO 20 PSI.
Would they be so kind as to post that in writing ?

I read in other posts that 3" upper kb pulley + stock lower = 12.5 psi. What would a 4,6,or 8 lb.er do to that?

LOL, I have info about how the KB (or any other for that matter) blower pertains to the Ford warranty. IT BECOMES NON-EXISTANT!

Tundra, i got that in writing via e mail
I had to go work out but i will repost the email...word for word.
Cool thanks. Ive got an extended warrantee that I will be voiding. It took too much hassle for them to pay for a messed up fuel pump. About 20 calls (not kidding) to Atlanta and 2 weeks to get it straight is too much horse manure for me.
I've been lookin' for a reason any way...

I asked if blower had to be installed by an authorized dealer?
I asked how many rpm/psi would void the factory warranty?
I asked if non professional racing would void the warranty?
There reply,
Not necessary to have a dealer install it.
Warranty not void if you race the truck[i assume this means rc racing also]
Theres no way to damage the blower unless you run a bolt or ? through it,over fill it with oil or over rev it.
RPM warranty limit is 18000..although racers have had no problem at 20000 rpm[hmmm bet they been turned higher]
18000 will give 20psi at 5500 rpm/3.27 ratio.
That should suffice.
There is no "Ford" warranty on our sc kits.
Iv'e also included a link that may be helpful regarding your factory warranty and the addition of aftermarket parts. http://www.kennebell.net/faq/faq-answers3(2).htm
Thanks K.B.

I love the KB site, but this is pure nonsense:
"Dealer Warranties
Under Federal Law, vehicle manufacturers, dealers or agents cannot void vehicle powertrain or emissions warranties due to the presence of a properly installed Kenne Bell product. If a warranty is denied, contact the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at (202) 260-2080 or www.epa.gov or the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at (202) 326-3128 or www.ftc.gov. Additional information is available at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) website www.sema.org. Kenne Bell is a member of SEMA."
The SEMA site itself explains why KB's statement is just plain wrong:
"The short strokes of this issue are these; unless the dealer can prove that the part that failed did so as a direct result of a part you installed, he is obligated to fix it under warranty. The mere presence of aftermarket parts won't do it. Do yourself a favor while you're all tangled up in this, read your warranty information and understand what it says. The more you know, the better off you'll be. Additionally, your state may grant you additional rights in this matter, and you may want to contact your State Consumer Protection Office for further details."
Bottom line: Put a KB on your L. Blow your engine. Take it to the dealer and demand warranty service. Be prepared to get laughed off the lot--and justifiably so.
People constantly pop off about Magnusen-Moss without having a clue what they are talking about. That law simply prevents a dealer from requiring you to purchase stuff like Ford oil filters to be eligible for warranty coverage.

I agree to some extent, but the Magnusen-Moss act also prevented the denial of warranty for installing aftermarket parts that weren't related to a warranty claim. An example would be, Ford couldn't deny warranty on an engine component if the vehicle had been loweredwith a lowering kit. Both parts aren't related. I don't see any way that Ford would warranty an engine component failure (crank, rod, piston etc.) if you bolt on an aftermarket blower and run it at a higher boost than stock though.
Sounds like great info for sure but look at this.....
Blower Speed Formula....
Crank diameter / upper diameter * rpm
So with that been said the max setup you can go and be in warrenty is.....
6lber (9in OD) / 2.75 Upper * 5500 shift point gives you 18,000 Blower speed....
If your shift points are higher, you are over spinning it....
So be careful on what you post your running guys.... I know some of the built motor guys are taking the shift points up higher... Sounds like no warrenty....
