excellent in the snow?? I've been stuck too may times in the snow with them. I do agree, they look the best from what I've seen ...

I kind of miss the days when I was able to go to the local tire shop and buy some generic tires for a 14" rim for about $50 bucks each ....

In stock.......

The reason I keep going back to F1's is because I think they are the best looking tire. They work great in the rain, and are excellent in the snow. My parents put a set on their 2000 Mustang GT for the winter and absolutely love them. In my opinion, they are a great tire, and are priced fairly.

you got it

UPS is saying that I will get it tomorrow now...

Yep, I think they are great in the snow.... as long as they have about half tread. I have goon through each winter from 1999 to present with these tires and have zero complaints. I have a 4X4 F-350 plow truck at the fire department that is worse in the snow and ice than my truck is. Granted, it could run through a mudhole or snow drift, but mine does better on the roadway. I really don't see how people have problems with these trucks in the snow.

And yes, these are the best looking tire in my opinion. They have the right sidewall thickness, and the right width. The other tires that I have seen don't have that. Plus, I think the tread pattern looks the best. I am not a fan of the V-shaped tread of some of the tires offered. I wish that the F1's would remain in the current tread configuration.

Silver_2000_!

I was quoted $150 each out the door mounted and balaced at the Good Year tire store in Saginaw, MI.
Its on Washington St.

I had them mount and balance two tires for me today (that I did not buy there).
The dealer had a quote for me and said the next time I need them he would hook me up.

Hope that helps, Suavy

Tirerack...Wrong tire

Guys,

Make sure you order the correct tire from Tirerack. They are carrying the WR tire.....NOT the ZR Thats why when you search for "Lightning" tires nothing is found.

Goodyear does not make a 295/45-18 F1 that is W rated...I believe tirerack just has it misprinted. Its been that way for a while.

The tread is the same as the original.

Also tirerack listed the tire as WR on the email confirmation, but they sent the ZR. Someone probably just entered it wrong in their database.

They are available as both Z and W rated. I know this because I've got 2 of each on my truck. Except for the speed rating, all of the UTOQ specs are the same.

Fritz,

What difference does it make? W is better than Z. And, the treadwear rating is the same.
