Snuglid Quote $, how does this sound?

SnugTop Snuglid, painted, carpeted and installed: $825.00

Does this sound like a decent price. I found a dealer in Tampa, and it sounded reasonable.

TIA.

Sounds about right. On mine I also got the bottom side carpeted along with the drill-less clamp style mounting brackets for $965 shipped.

Then again I installed it myself.....so that might have saved some flow.

Well, they are local. I am just gonna drive over there and pick it up, if they want to install it fine, if I can save a few bucks and slap it on in the parking lot, I will do that. I am just glad I don't have to pay the shipping.

Joe, what is the benefit of the different mounting hardware? Is it something that will add to the life/longevity of the lid? If so, I will get them ordered!

thanks fellas.

I paid $625 installed for a Snuglid here in So Cal in August of 2000.

Like everyone else with a Silver F150 Snuglid, I notice the silver paint is slightly off the color match with the truck. (But all the snuglids I see match.) So see if they will guarantee a color match. I would have paid $900 for that!!!

I wouldnt waste money on the clamp system.. No matter what you do the lid will leave marks on the truck. The clamp keeps you from having to drill holes but it still leaves marks...

However I live in Texas and Salt/rust is not an issue for drilled holes...

I just didn't want to drill any holes in my truck (holes equal rust IMO). The Snugrip system just clamps under the top of the bed.

Not if you make rubber "sleeves" for the clamps

I removed mine over 1 year after installation and guess what.......no marks.......at all

You may get someone to guarantee a perfect color match, I don't. There are too many factors which determine if the color will match perfect. I tell my customers if they want a perfect color match to order an unpainted bedcover and take it to their favorite paint shop and have the vehicle and cover painted at the same time. That is the only way to guarantee that the paint is mixed the same.

No Easter, this isn't a matter of paint batch, mix or spray. I think Snuglid have just been screwing up. I called them in 2000 and they said they would look into it, never heard back. But the lid is 100% quality so I don't have a lot of regret.

Of course ever since I drove the truck out of the garage with the lid up (guess I needed extra height for the engine lift ) I plan on getting the cover, the rear bumper (M/C trailer impacts) and front air dam repainted anyway.

I purchased a Snuglid...... When the lid came the Color was off.
They dealer gave me the run around.......He said.."Your bumper doesnt match Pefect Blah blah blah...

I called Snuglid Direct.....They told "No Problem" send it back w/your gas cap cover. We'll match the cover color.

Well that's probably because of the 'pioneers' like myself who complained, even though they didn't fix mine. In undying gratitude, you can send me money for my new blower if you like

If you go w/the Snuglid Clamp on System.....and you have a Duraliner in your truck bed. The Plastic Duraliner has rounded inside corners.

Snuglids clampframe is prewelded Square......You'll have to cut notches on the inside corner of the duraliner to elimanate the round corners @ the cab.
