Coil on plug ?
Coil on plug ?
Well since I can't put my heads back on because I have the wrong gasket figured I would check the resistance of the coils. Have a brand new one that I have been carrying for the just in case situation. The resistance of that one is 5.11K ohms. As far as the ones in the truck the were:
3 @ 5.11K ohms
1 @ 5.13K ohms
4 @ 5.21k ohms
Should I replace the 4 or are they still within specs? Think I may replace but think these things are expensive now.

Why are you checking them?

Thanks for the info. I am checking them because I just wanted to make sure they were ready for the season of racing
Figured if I was going to replace the head gaskets I should check everything else while putting everything back together.
General accepted tolerance is 10% above and below rated resistance. You need to find out the exact resistance rating.Dont rely too much on your readings unless you are using a very good digital or Simpson analog ohm meter.
