anybody have DVD/GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM in their truck?

Hi all, sorry if this has been covered before (i'm sure it has), but I was wondering if anybody has a GPS navigation system in their truck that displays on a DVD screen?

I had DVD in my old truck and it was tricky, but two years later it doesn't have the same shock factor (not worth spending $4000 on since they are almost commonplace now). Also, I kindof like the factory 6-disc that came in the truck.

UNLESS I can get one that also uses the screen for a GPS navigation display. I used one of these things for the first time on a recent trip to LA in our rental Lincoln, and I can only say that they are AWESOME.

I plan on making a few road trips this year (maryland, new jersey, carolina, maybe even st.louis ) and I am HORRIBLE with directions. I get lost EVERY time I go anywhere near D.C. it would be cool to get a GPS system for the truck, and then I'd have an excuse to get another in dash DVD player and a nice stereo.

anybody have any car electronics knowledge? I'd appreciate any opinions and info.

also, whats the scoop on this satellite radio stuff?

thanks in advance.

later,
chris

Kenwood makes a nice one...expensive though.

Same software that is in the Lexus LS430

There's a good demo of it on their page:

Go here:

Click on interactive manual (look hard...it's in the middle of right side of page)...then after the new window opens up click on demo.

I agree, Kenwood does have a nice setup. It is touchscreen compatible, too.

The only reason I have a screen in my truck is for GPS.

Alpine IVA-C800 - headunit/monitor w/single CD
Alpine NVE-851A - DVD nav unit
Alpine CHA-S624 - 6disc changer
Alpine ERA-G320 - 11b EQ, bbe, spectrum analyzer, DSP, timesync

I got it all for around $3200.
