Any tuning considerations with FT Valve Body?

I ordered the FT V/B from Tim this week and forgot to ask if their are any tuning considerations after the install. My mods are JDM Stage I&II with dual program flip chip.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!

Dan

I was lead to believe that the line pressure for the trans needs to be reduced back to stock levels. Most tuners jump up the line pressure to improve shifts.

I guess the best thing is to call your tuner

Good point. With the line mod valve the truck shifts very hard already.

I'll give them a call on Monday. Or may'be Justin will jump in here and chime in.

Thanks for the reply.

I would think the line pressures need to be dropped back to normal also... This is a question I have been meaning to ask, but I was gonna wait till I get my FT Valve body... I am very suprised it has not been asked before...

Transmission line pressure should be factory on ALL performance files related to our trucks.

That is, if longevity is a major concern. It is for me.

JMHO.

I'm not sure if the pressure was changed with the line mod valve install.

But anyone with one will tell you that the truck shifts HARD on ALL shifts. I'm not sure if the valve alone would produce that.

Think I should give a yell out to Factory Tech or JDM here? Might save us all some time.

I returned my chip for a re-burn when I ordered my valve body and a few other things

So maybe the line pressure was reduced to factory settings. All I know is my trucks shifts smooth at part throttle, but at WOT it slams into gear like the

Its by far, my favorite mod

Whether you need a chip adjustment is totally a matter of your firmness preferance. If you put the VB in and it's too harsh with the chip, then send the chip back and have it adjusted. If you like the VB and the chip together, then leave it be. You will NOT damage anything by leaving the line pressure increased in the chip.

Thanks, Sal. And everyone else. I'll give it a few miles and see how it feels. Like I said, with the line mod valve and chip combo now, it shifts pretty damn hard.

Looking forward to it. Went out and bought all the necessary stuff for the install this morning.

Thanks again..

See ya'

Non mechanic type = me too.

I haven't done the install yet. Just heard from Tim and it's supposed to arrive on Wednesday. I'll be doing the install this coming weekend.

I'm using this link as a guide along with the instructions that come with it.

Good luck!
